MJWalker45 5,455 Posted October 20, 2020 Manchester United knocks off PSG at Stade de Prince. I actually expected a 2-0 win for PSG so I'm super happy with the result. That means a loss on the weekend judging by how this season is going. Zenit 1-2 Club Brugge Dynamo Kiev 0-2 Juventus Chelsea 0-0 Sevilla Rennes 1-1 FK Krasnodar Lazio 3-1 Dortmund Barcelona 5-1 Ferencvarosi RB Leipzig 2-0 Istanbul Basaksehir Paris St-Germain 1-2 Manchester United

Why even play it? Had PSG lost they'd have a lower goal differential which is almost always the first decider. Was head to head a change this year? Even then United split with both sides.
waltere 535 Posted December 9, 2020 Head to head has been the Champions League's first tiebreaker of choice for a while now, and (this bit may well be new) the current second tiebreaker is goal differential solely in head to head games, not more generally - so United are done regardless of the PSG outcome. As to why they're restarting it, if PSG win then they overtake Leipzig and win the group, which then impacts knockout round seedings.
