WJMorris3 Posted September 1, 2004 Posted September 1, 2004 What two MLB teams share the record for most runs scored in a shutout, since 1900?
slapshot Posted September 1, 2004 Posted September 1, 2004 Boston Red Sox is one...beat St. Louis Browns 29-0 in the early 1950s. Back-to-Back Fatal Forty Champion 2015 & 2016
WJMorris3 Posted September 1, 2004 Author Posted September 1, 2004 Let me now shoot my source. My source had the record at 22, which would have put it at Pittsburgh and Cleveland.
slapshot Posted September 1, 2004 Posted September 1, 2004 I think the Yankees beat the Red Sox in the 22-0 ballpark (no pun) a few years ago. I called that day "Black Friday". The papers called it the "Boston Massacre".edit: nm, it was 22-1June 19, 2000: The Yankees beat the Red Sox 22-1, handing them their most-lopsided home loss ever. New York scored sixteen runs in the final two innings of the game. Back-to-Back Fatal Forty Champion 2015 & 2016
CaolinaJoe Posted September 1, 2004 Posted September 1, 2004 Thought the "Boston Massacre" was in '76. The yankees came to town and outscored the Sox 45-6 I think. The year they blew like a 15 game lead, that series was the nail in the coffin. "It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of thepress. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom ofspeech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given usthe freedom to demonstrate. And it is the soldier who salutes theflag, serves beneath the flag, whose coffin is draped by the flag, andwho allows the protester to burn the flag."Marine Chaplain Dennis Edward O' Brien
