Seems odd to fire Roenicke after what was a lost season from the start. But I don't think he was ever meant to be a permanent replacement.

Such a shame Mr. Beane could never make a World Series with the A's.  

Always had a soft spot for them.

I just read that IF the sale goes through and he leaves the A's, he would more than likely leave MLB and more than likely look to pursue a position with a European soccer club.

Yeah, obviously being apart of the Fenway Group while still holding a position with The A's would be a major conflict of interest. 

 

Probably just a coincidence, but I wonder if this year's loss for Oakland is what finally got him to move on. Best Season A's have had in a over decade, and still lose in the Divisional. This time yo a Houston team that probably wouldn't have even been in the Playoffs under normal circumstances.
