They’ve avoided all outdoor games since the 2014 Stadium Series (at least I think it was 2014). They probably are to blame as well, but I read his post to be referring to the COVID restrictions which are keeping the Sharks from playing in Santa Clara County, but aren't as strict in El Dorado County (Tahoe) so it's possible for them to play there.

It also sucks because, bafflingly, Reno is trying hard to sell Vegas as the local team due to the state affiliation. It’s ridiculous and dumb, but they’re also basically in no mans land when it comes to sports culture, so it’s marginally working. Had the Sharks put in even an ounce of effort to keep that as their territory, it would be still be theirs. All this is going to do is foster a big group of Golden Knights fans in what was once Sharks territory. So you’re right that both the league and the team itself are most proficient at tripping over their own dicks.

Yeah, this too 100%. I thought that kind of went without saying at this point. And that particular stretch of land that they’ll be playing in is actually a part of Douglas County, Nevada. But that’s part of the problem. The rest of the population is just west of that area in El Dorado County, California. It makes it basically impossible for these lock downs to be effective.

He still feels like he has "a lot left in the tank" so he chose DC, where he would have a bigger role to play. Curious to see how Capitals will use him. They're gonna try to shoehorn Jakub Zboril into a prominent role to make it look like the scouting department didn't absolutely whiff in the first round of the 2015 draft, aren't they?
