If there's one thing I can't possibly care about in sports, it's the concern over the television ratings.

Ayton alley-oop dunk off the inbound to win?

JFC. I feel like this game has been a snore, but what a finish!

I just tuned in to see that free throw choke job and inbounds alley-oop, so as far as I know this is the best game ever.

That Suns play was unreal. I only saw the last one minute of clock time, so that was like, what, an hour ago? But even with all the stoppage, what a finish!

The referees turned 0.7 seconds into 7.0 minutes.
Just for PG to not even get the shot off in time (and still miss).

I can forgive missing. Not even getting the ball out of your hands though? That's just embarrassing.

Maybe it's ESPN's broadcast, but does this crowd sound kind of quiet to anyone else?

Tuned in right before the inbound dunk that should have just been the end of the game and yeah - either there's no energy in that building or they have the mics turned down.  Most games you can barely even hear the broadcasters when there's big plays.

There should be super stiff penalties for delays like this nonsense at the end.  The Clippers should have known who to put on the floor, and done so.  If the referees, who were doing their job, saw that they tried to slip someone else on there, then there should be a time runoff and fine the hell out of them.  The referees shouldn't have needed 5 minutes to sort it out - the onus should be on the teams to do the right thing so that the refs job is a little easier.

He was probably in his head after missing the two free throws. That, combined with the fact that we all thought Ayton ended the game, might have thrown him off.
You’re right tho. Pandemic Playoff P stood still for half a second, which was all they had. SMH

Suns we’re the stronger team pretty much the entire game but gotta give it to the Clippers some credit for making the shots to keep them in it. Them being without Kawhi is definitely hurting them more than the Suns not having CP3 is.

And :censored:ing Paul George, man 🤦🏼‍♂️

I always thought Kawhi wanting to team up with George was weird. I gotta flaunt my correctness in predicting failure because I thought for sure that Trae Young would be a total flop but it turns out I would actually be a bad NBA GM.

Jae Crowder is the real key to success for underdogs going far in the playoffs. Not kidding!

Re the end of that game, the review stuff is getting absurd. For all of MLB pace of play concerns, NBA might be worse because of the way exciting games turn to slogs like this. I used to like basketball games for being quick and snappy, compared to the time commitments for baseball or football games.

Another thing about basketball:

It's dumb that all players get 6 fouls.  Fouls should be 'accrued', so that if you're a starter that plays like 36 minutes, you get 6 fouls.  But if your some dude at the end of the bench that plays 6 minutes, you get 1 foul.  If you get more than your accrued fouls, you should have to sit until you accrue some more, then you can come back in (so if a starter gets hurt and some bench guy comes in at half time, as long as he doesn't foul a lot up front, he'll be fine.)

It's silly that some loser at the end of the bench can enter the game with 5 minutes left and have a full allotment of fouls to use.  There's too many fouls, and 'fixing' the number that can possibly be used per game might cut that down.

Basketball games have always been at risk of dragging at the end (especially at the college level), but some of these reviews are just obnoxious.

Another reminder that the Kings passed up on both Luka AND Tre Young for Marvin :censored:in Bagley.

So did the Suns, but that worked out fine

Yes, because they got Ayton who was the consensus #1 pick that year by just about everybody, and look what he did last night. I get the argument that the Suns should’ve picked either of those guys, but if I had that pick I would’ve picked Ayton any day.

The Kings have no excuse for making such a stupid pick. The only thing Bagley did was play at Duke and not be from the wrong country in the Balkans.

I’m not even a Kings fan and this team still makes me so mad.
