If I had to pick one I guess it would be Wolves, but if they're going to change the name I'd want Hogs as it still ties into the history of the team. I don't know who is making the call as far as branding goes, but hopefully Snyder comes in and just leaves it as Washington Football Team. This makes me think that Washington Warthogs would've been a good team name. You have alliteration and a name that ties in well with the franchise's history, plus you could have a pretty cool logo set that would still differentiate itself from other pro sports team in North America (And hopefully not draw comparisons to the Arkansas Razorbacks). Edit: Just look at those tusks! They're practically perfect to make a W logo out of.

From what I understand a riot or something broke out, and the team folded up.

flyersfan
I've been a big fan of the number un-restrictions. I still am. But players who changed numbers while remaining on the same team, and seeing another of their position grab the #, that has me confused while watching preseason highlights. The Panthers having a #12 WR, and the Rams having a #17 have me tripped. I'll be used to it by week 3-4, but annoying out of the gate. Like yes, it's common for players to have their jerseys given out after they leave, I'm just tripped up by those who are still on that team

I know the history, popularity and cultural importance of soccer in Europe and South America has lead to riots, but the US doesn't have that so it sounded strange. Especially over indoor soccer. gosioux76
I agree with many of you that Commanders is terrible and Redtails is nothing but a proxy to appease the stubborn blockheads among the fanbase. Washington Wolves is the easiest choice. It's classic enough to fit with a franchise with Washington's history. And as much as you'd like the new brand to excite and inspire, I can understand why a team might find comfort in something from the video game create-a-team options. Wolves at least sounds as if it could have existed in the '40s and is a name that shouldn't be difficult to build around visually. That said, I don't care for the wolf head logo shown among those concepts, though the W with the claws has some potential.

Bill0813
A "red tail" is what you have after your butt gets kicked. I don't know how Armada and Brigade rose to the top 8. Presidents and Defenders don't cut it. Of the rumored top 3, go with Wolves (don't add "red"), but it has no real connection to the city. Time to open that WFT thread again? DCarp1231
Honestly, I’m wondering if they’re still including Wolves in running to appease those fans that have been salivating for it since the name drop was announced.

FiddySicks
Honestly, Wolves would be fine. I mean, they already play in a conference with relatively generic animal names like Eagles, Lions, Panthers, and a couple couple of birds. It’s generic, sure, but probably no more so than any of those. Also, wolves are basically dogs, and dogs are cool as hell. Dynasty
That logo for the Presidents name looks pretty solid (if not Vegas-y). It could be used for other names.
