Not for me. I disklike Seattle's all gray almost as much as I hate their all navy, which is saying something because I despise the all navy. If they want to make that gray jersey the primary road, I guess it would kinda work with navy pants,  but only with different socks.  Or even white pants, would be worth a shot. White is the only color NFL teams can wear in monochrome that doesn't look minor league to me.

100% agree. Especially with colored socks.

However, if a team chooses to wear plain white socks, it really drags down the look. They’re still very likable uniforms, but it makes them feel incomplete.

I do.  I think it's the only combo they have where everything looks like it was designed to go together vs mixing and matching pieces from different sets.  For the gray pants to work with the navy top, they'd have to work green into the side stripe, but even then it wouldn't be better than the all navy.  Most monochromes in the NFL suck, but some do work, and Seattle's is one of the best IMO.

Yeah I do, too. I liked the mono blue on the last set even more.

White socks with mono white brings down the look way more than when a team wears a color such as mono navy. Most teams who wear all white with white socks have a non white helmet which makes it stick out a lot and they need colored socks to balance it out. The Packers, Giants, and cowboys color rush uniforms would look so much better if they just wore their normal socks with those uniforms.

They better brighten the green then. Say what you want about the current look but at the very least the green isn't that awful drab shade they were wearing before.

I am all for returning to that look but I agree. I'd rather have this mess of a look with the beautiful shade of green.

Make a white jersey and pants and call it a day.

I guess I'm in a tiny minority that much prefers the return-to-classic look of the Jets, including the darker green, before Nike took over and the colors got weird. The dark green and white had a nice frosty, unique look to it. If they could have just cleaned it up so the stripes weren't awkward and the greens were consistent, that would have been *chef's kiss*.

I do like the new candy-apple helmet, in a vacuum, and I actually kinda like the black jersey-- would love to see it with white pants. But mostly I wish they did a modern version of:

There's a lot of teams who I liked their uniforms better during the Reebok era than when they were in Nike.

They could pretty easily have made a "modern" version of those by making a green jersey on the Texans template, making the insert green but use white piping around it, with the "sleeve" part being white.  Now that TV numbers aren't really a thing they could probably have done even more.

No one really likes the mono look. Like you said though, Seattle made that the team’s shtick and unfortunately it does work.

For the road grey, it makes a lot of sense. Of all teams, the Rams proved a team doesn’t actually need a white away jersey. Grey is a good one for Seattle to adopt and drop the white uniform completely. I hope some more teams follow suit.

I used to like mono when I was younger. Mostly because it was different. Then someone pointed out how bad mono looks when the socks are the same color as the pants. I can't unsee it. It's like a giant leotard.

When the socks are the same color as the pants it just looks like oddly long pants. No matter what

I'd say overall, the non-white monochrome look doesn't work for ~95% of looks. IMO, the Seahawks mono-navy actually works, and they've owned that look. Their all grey also works (but that's closer to white). I honestly can't really point out another NFL team where it works

Happened to a lot of teams.

Back when the Jets announced the new set, @keyser.soze made a small change that inverted the shoulder stripe to fit the modern Nike template. It looked pretty good too and could've fixed one major problem the Jets uniforms had since the Nike takeover.

If they did this with the current colors, it would look really good. I said before, all they needed were small tweaks, not an entire overhaul.

yup I remember that post. That looks good. Maybe even better would be to get rid of the green stripe altogether, just have the green sleeve caps. And like I said, I think the dark green looks good, as long as it's a nice rich hunter green like in the Curtis Martin photo above, rather than the mix of muddy greens they ended up with.

They should've went with the old flying jet above the word "Jets" rather than the football underneath.

It can work sometimes only when contrasting socks are worn. Like I think the Panthers look great in Black/Black/Blue but look like complete dog poop when they go head-to-toe black.
