Historical connotations are pretty cool too. Between the switch to the striped helmet and their last pre-2022 playoff win, they wore only orange socks.

See my earlier comment on the Bengals 2021 rebrand being a success. Adding the black/white/orange as a jersey/pants/socks combination really sealed it. I honestly cannot tell which I prefer to be the full time, primary home look. I always like the idea of a team having a special variation of their standard look for big games, the orange socks could be that for Cincinnati. Save the orange hose for key games or division games.

Then again, its pretty awesome so maybe just roll with them full time. I still love the black socks on the road with white pants. Ideally, I'd probably like to see Cincinnati split their road games evenly between white/black/white and white/white/black then go with black/white/orange for most home games with black/black/black, orange/white/orange, and orange/black/orange each getting one game.

Yes there was major differences. Go back and find pre-1984 49ers games and you will see.

Slippery iron-on numbers? That doesn't even exist anymore

Major? I’d barely call them minor differences. Some shoulder numbers were wider that’s it.
