It's getting dangerously close to free agency/draft season with only the Bengals confirmed to be updating their uniforms at this point. How can teams like the Cardinals and Broncos still be content with wearing the same outdated garbage year after year for the past couple of decades? I pray that one of these teams announces something in the coming weeks.

The Cardinals will screw up any update. Sure, the 2000s piping will be finally be gone but I feel like it will end being like the Falcons update.

Somehow, there are many that still like the Broncos "modern classic" with the tapered stripes straight from 1997. Even more baffling, some prefer the boring navy uniforms.

The current Broncos don't appear to be having any luck with that look since Manning retired and their defense fell apart.

A lot of teams haven't won Super Bowls in the last six years. Not really a reason to demand a change.

Those sleeve stripes, though.  Ugh.

I know it is a product of my mind playing tricks on me, but they don't bother me as much as they should.

If I saw them on a new uniform, I would automatically say they're a mess.  However, since I know what they're supposed to look like and they still appear in full on the QB cut, my mind completes them (for lack of a better phrase) on the other jerseys.

One of those teams is not the Super Bowl LII Champion Philadelphia Eagles.

Outside of the two Super Bowls in the first two years of the current set and the Manning era, the Broncos haven't been that good since their current uniforms were introduced. They have two playoff appearances in years where John Elway and Peyton Manning weren't the QB in that time.

Almost any team not named the Patriots would take 3 Super Bowl wins since 1997.

It's actually five. 2000 w/ Griese, 2003 w/Plummer, 2004 w/Plummer, 2005 w/Plummer, 2011 w/Tebow.

Well then I do apologize for making a mistake. But I'd also say that they still didn't do much in those appearances (much like my Bengals)

So in the past 24 years they have 4 Super Bowl appearances, 3 Super Bowl wins, 11 playoff appearances, 14 playoff wins. But if for some reason you remove the Super Bowl appearance years (because they don't count for some reason), they still have 2 playoff victories. Pretty sure your Bengals can't say that 🤣

In 2005 the Broncos gave Brady his first playoff loss and went to the AFCC game. Not bad.

Saying the Broncos should change because only Elway and Manning have had playoff success is like saying the Steelers should change things in a few years because only Bradshaw and Roethlisberger have won anything.

And the thing is I LOVE the Orange Crush unis. But I'm ok with them only being an alternate.

The Broncos should have changed whether the won 24 Super Bowls or zero. The Patriots are possibly the greatest dynast of all time, and even they changed after realizing they were stuck in the 2000s. If New England can do that, no amount of winning should dissuade the Broncos from doing the same.

Even with the success now is the best time as any to change. In post manning Broncos they are a shell of their former self, without anything you can call an offense with a carousel at QB, and a defense that can’t keep them in games anymore. They need something to attract interest into them again

One major difference being that the Broncos modernized set actually looks really good, where the Pats previous set looked kinda terrible.

Heck, the set got better once Nike standardized the jersey cuts. Reebok really let the consistency slip.

I wouldn't say the Broncos need to change based on the amount of success they have had or haven't had with the side panel super spreader uniform.

I'd say the need to change because that uniform is an exhausted relic of the early 2000's and the previous color scheme is significantly more interesting.

The Broncos current look is great. Perfect colour balance, and the design is one of the few examples of something that isn't a "traditional" design while not being an over designed mess. The number font is fine, its unique, and aesthetically ties into the Broncos identity while simultaneously not being illegible nonsense or generic block numbers.

If there's one thing they need to do its reduce the amount of times they wear navy and focus on being the orange team.

Joe Ellis, the Broncos' President/CEO, said in January 2020 that the Broncos won't make any changes to the uniforms as long as he's the CEO.

 https://broncoswire.usatoday.com/2020/01/02/denver-broncos-news-joe-ellis-wont-switch-to-throwback-d-helmet-logo/

However, Ellis said in January 2021 that he doesn't see himself in that official role past March 2022

So a change could be coming in a few years, but not this year.

Might be of note, might be nothing, but NFL shop previously listed the Broncos’ color rush as color rush as recent as yesterday. Today it is listed as “alternate jersey”

I’m hoping this means they’re going to pair it with white pants.

Heh...left to me, Tampa would've reclaimed their status as the orange team--but we all know that ain't happening, especially now,  so...plus, Cleveland and Cincinnati now kinda have that covered.

Anyway, re: Denver, I'd argue the opposite...considering the fact those uniforms were very obviously designed to highlight the orange side panels, I'd say they need to [get back to] wearing them as originally intended, meaning navy over white at home. (Actually, they were originally intended to be navy over navy, but IIRC John Elway wasn't having that, so they went to navy over white. ) The orange tops just look washed out in comparison (may just be the shade of orange they're using). Of course, all of this could be helped if they were to shift towards a bit brighter blue-- not quite royal, but close.

Saint

The thing that always boggled me about their aways is why they chose not to carry the orange side panels over to the away sets, and simply pair the navy pants they originally intended for the navy tops with the white jerseys...

These are not the best images, but back in the early part of the 2000s Morgan State football did this...if you can ignore the navy outlines (& orange facemasks), this is a visual idea of what I'm talking about.
