The new helmets have the Elk side of the branding, so keeping the green at home with EE on the shoulders seems like a safe bet and a good middle ground between the old and the new... although, why pass up an opportunity to sell even more new merch, especially considering how Elks stuff is flying off the shelves right now. The player graphic they're using for a recent ticket pack campaign is one from last year with the old Eskimos wordmark edited out. The Stamps anniversary jerseys have supposedly been selling very well with the store at McMahon picked clean and more shipments have been ordered. I'm a sucker for these kinds of helmets (Rams, Bengals, Vikings, Eagles, Barnstomers) but I don't know if I'm a fan. The decal looks too small and thin to me. I love the idea, but the elk horn just feels too insubstantial to command the space it's trying to occupy. monkeypower Posted July 13, 2021 Share Posted July 13, 2021 I just kind of noticed this now, but the horse the Stampeders use on their helmets and jerseys is different than the horse in their logo (and that's used everywhere else). Dropshadow notwithstanding, but look at the direction of the tail, the face shape and the "spikes" in the mane. The one on the helmets and jerseys is SMU's logo. That aside, it also appears as if it's too tall to adequately fit on a modern helmet. In order to avoid the air holes at the top, the logo had to be pushed more toward the back of the helmet. The Lions need to go back to something like the 2012-15 look.
