johne9109 Posted February 6, 2021 Share Posted February 6, 2021 The Celtics have always been a team that played it safe with their uniforms due to the classic feel of the team and their imagery. Because of this I felt we have suffered when it came to specialty jerseys. When this years City Edition came out I liked it and respected what it represented, but I felt they could've done more. So I came up with this concept that actually represents the city of Boston in some way and not just changing colors around. The inspiration was the MBTA and specifically the T line and the North Station that lets out right at TD Garden. The jersey replicates the coloring of the tram and the name plate on the back replicates the destination info on the tram. I put NORTH STATION instead of BOSTON or CELTICS again to make the connection with the city.
