You mean he was payed low starter money to be a starter, and he didn’t have the controversies around him that Kap did, and he was trending downwards. Glennon was paid on potential, Kaps potential had already been seen. It’s obvious why he wasn’t signed and it’s because the negative publicity and distractions far outweighed his performance on the field. The league has a history of giving people shots if their talent can make people forget the controversies (Vick, plaxico, AB) Kap was maybe a borderline starter for a team and that just isn’t worth it when it will end up hitting you even deeper in the pocketbook when ratings go down.

Yeah, no :censored:.  It was seen on the field of Super Bowl XLVII where he accounted for 360+ yards and 2 TD's.  It was seen in the divisional round against Green Bay when he accounted for 444 yards and 4 TDs.

 

Credit to you, though.  Most people would have stopped when they realized keeping up their argument meant they had to argue Mike Glennon is more accomplished than Colin Kaepernick.

Did I say glennon was better than Kap anywhere in my post? I was simply pointing out that’s what starters get paid. Also don’t fool yourself into thinking that the Kap in 2017 to now would ever see that success again, like I said he was trending downwards, would maybe be a fringe starter on a team that needed someone. Glennon was able to fill the roll because he had no controversy around him, and was praised by the Bucs as someone who could be a serviceable starter, like garrapolo was by New England. Kap made himself no favors leaving the 9ers having nearly as many picks as TD’s, arm strength was shot, lost his illusiveness and strength and became fragile from losing weight by becoming vegan, and then all the controversy around him that he created. Those are the reasons he was wasn’t signed immediately, why he hasn’t been signed since is because he’d rather be an activist and a martyr any time he comes close to getting an opportunity through his and his gf’s comments, or what he did with the tryout. He had opportunities. He just chose to throw them away.

Oh was he?  Because he had one bad year with Mike Tomsula as his head coach?  Starting QB in the NFL for five years... one of them was bad.  Yeah, the other four must be the anomaly.

 

His final year in San Francisco on a trainwreck of a team... 11 starts, 2241 yards, 16 TD , 4 picks with 468 yards rushing, 2 TD's, averaging 6.8 YPC.  90 QB rating.  That doesn't seem bad for a guy whose best WR was Jeremy Kerley.

So Pittsburgh is said to have the hardest schedule based on last year's records of the teams they play. Tampa Bay is at 29. Probably the easiest record for a returning Super Bowl champion.

It's a bit annoying that Dallas leads off the season. I think the Saints would be a better matchup for the Buccaneers, even with Brees retired.

I feel like I remember hearing that there will be a few weeks per season moving forward where both Fox and CBS can have doubleheaders. Is that the case with Week 1 here?

 

Also, can't help but notice only a single MNF game. That's a change.

The NFL moved the doubleheader ESPN usually has to the end of the season.

Steelers/Bills and Chiefs/Browns are much more attractive matchups than Bears/Rams.

 

They're just making up for SoFi's delayed in-person opening, huh? I can't think of any other reason for that to have the prime spot on week one.

I feel like they've done this for Week 1 and Week 17, now Week 18. I'd like to see it more weeks to be honest, instead of moving games to Saturday when college football isn't playing.

Somebody in the scheduling department thought it was a good idea for Washington to end their season with five straight divisional games

I'm looking at this right now and I'm wondering who the hell wants to watch the New York Jobbers on Monday Night Football? Weren't they trying to improve the matchups for Monday Night this year or is that next year? 

 

Opening against the Browns is awesome, though. Would love to see a true successor to the Mayfield-Mahomes duel at the pro level.

My takeaways from this are...

 

- Cowboys and Bears fans get to see their team on primetime too much.

- The Giants get two MNF games at KC and TB? What did they do to piss off the league?

- Vikings get two SNF games, but Arizona and Miami get none?

- It's good to see the Bills get the respect they deserve with more primetime games.

I love that the Eagles finally get a season where most of the games are reasonable start times.  I hate the night games, and they usually get a ton of them just by default.

 

I really wish they'd split up the division games and have a round early and a round late.  Doesn't make any sense to me to have more than half of your division games at the very end when the division could already be decided, and I really hate when they play team X, then Y, then right back to X.
