Going back to the white sox jersey... as a sox fan from the south side, I absolutely love them. The white sox don’t care if fans of the 29 other teams don’t like their jerseys. It’s meant for the south siders and their fans... and the fan feedback has been outstanding.

I am just happy Nike didnt throw some neon green or fuchsia in there. Wouldnt have shocked me if they did.

Do Chicagoans love their flag that much? Cause I swear that the Chicago flag is incorporated into as many Chicago uniforms as possible. I’m from Maryland, I get it, when it’s determined by the powers that be that you have a “cool” flag, it gets slapped onto everything, but even the O’s and Ravens keep the MD flag relegated to patches!

"Respect Our Neighborhood," brought to you by the family that bought half of it and turned it into Naperville.

For all the bird de lis haters I think the bird de lis isnt supposed to be a pelican and a fleur de lis I think its just a fleur de lis with a pelicans head. Thats what it looks like to me. Also the flair around the tip of the beak is just flair that fleur de lis have sometimes source I am from NOLA.

If my city flag looked that good, I'd insist it be on everything too.

And if you're worried that the flag is overdone, they get massive points for using the Municipal Device.

I actually really like these? Big fan of that sleeve logo.

Also, for having “WRIGLEYVILLE” across the front, the team missed a big opportunity to include ivy in the jersey. Would’ve been nice to see the sleeve cuffs or under the word mark to have an ivy pattern.

I dig the device usage, even though it will become the Y successor to the Montreal ELB, maybe. Of course it was going to use the Chicago flag but it’s not what I expected and provides a fresh take on it. Other than this whole program being a brand inferno and the Cubs being a prime example of a blue team that doesn’t need to be navy, not bad, I guess!

I think the Chicago flag just lends itself to uniform design, there’s lots to work with in a variety of contexts. Whereas the Maryland flag is cool and distinctive but gets unwieldy fast if you use it too closely for design inspo, as some Terps uniforms have unfortunately showed us.

As a Red Sox fan that grew up smack dab in the middle of Wrigley and Sox Park (and therefore just enjoy going to see either team), I will say the White Sox killed it, but the Cubs could have been absolute miles worse (holding out all judgments till full release).

100% agree that the Muni Device gets a lil bonus point. Criminally underused in local sports besides the fire.  I love the flag, but I’ll dap up anyone else with a municipal device tattoo over a flag or stars tattoo any day of the week.

These needed to be red. You know, like the marquee outside Wrigley.

Another Nike fail.
