Put the "Wrigleyville" on a red background, and put it on a v-neck so the button placket doesn't break up the patch.

Safe to assume the caps will be navy with the Y?

Do you mean “W”

Going back to the white sox jersey... as a sox fan from the south side, I absolutely love them. The white sox don’t care if fans of the 29 other teams don’t like their jerseys. It’s meant for the south siders and their fans... and the fan feedback has been outstanding.

And that’s EXACTLY what this program -as well as the one in the NBA - is for.

Do the Fire use it?  I'm not familiar with that, and it doesn't appear on their mothership page (not that it means much).

I’m 90% sure they’ve used it as a neck-back or jock-tag element, but maybe I’m gaslighting myself here. Either way, kinda proves my point.

Whenever Baltimore gets their crack at a City Connect jersey, I fully expect a jersey script reading “Charm City” that mimics the famous Domino Sugar sign

That is far too good of an idea for Nike to take it seriously.

Doesn't somebody have an O's concept floating around here using that sign font?

To jump in the Reddit-mobile, someone who says they work within the MLB and closely with some people in the Angels Front Office claims that when the City Connect program was in the planning stage last year, the Angel City Connects were going to be "beach themed", but doesn't know if that's still the case.

Apparently workers have started coming back to the building, but there was a huge fire there about six/seven weeks ago:

"Wrigleyville" sounds lame. Though if that is what the area around the stadium is called then ok...at least make the jerseys red to match the sign.

These are hardly the worst but they're just so bland.

Nope. This program is for making money.

I actually really like these? Big fan of that sleeve logo.

Also, for having “WRIGLEYVILLE” across the front, the team missed a big opportunity to include ivy in the jersey. Would’ve been nice to see the sleeve cuffs or under the word mark to have an ivy pattern.

I kind of wish they had gone for green jerseys (to recall the ivy and green colors around the park) with the Chicago flag colors for the scripts/numbers. That would have been more interesting than navy at least.

White Sox wearing their City Connect unis today v Tigers, saw a few with white belts . IMO, the only way these dark colored pants work (better) is that the players wear them with  socks showing.  The pajama look kills it.

"That jersey should be red to match the sign..."

Never mind that the marquee was green when it was installed in 1934, was painted dark blue a few years later, and wasn't changed to red until the mid-60s. Oh, and the Cubs have two divisional rivals who wear (and are named after the color) red. The Cubs should never wear red as a primary color, period.

The design is solid, if a little plain. I must admit, I was ignorant of the municipal device until reading this thread, and now I LOVE that patch. Will hold off full judgement until the whole uniform is released. I'm bracing myself for a cap designed to reference the "W" flag, likely in the original white-on-blue color configuration.

If we're going with the idea that there is a set colour each team has to stick to then this whole program is suspect. Which, hey. Maybe it is.
But "team X should never wear Y" is clearly not something the people behind these are concerned with.

That's a nice element. I kinda wished the White Sox used that as well.

As for the city flag, I probably can recognize Chicago, Washington  and New York amongst American city flags, but beyond that, I don't think I can recognize any other city flag unless it's spelled out in big letters like San Francisco.

Not for nothing, and not to drag off-topic, but just because I've been around quite a bit and seen some, there are a few more obscure municipal flags worth at least checking out:

1200px-Flag_of_Des_Moines,_Iowa.svg.png

Des Moines IA. The three aqueducts correspond to the three bridges that cross the Grand, Locust, and Walnut Street bridges at the Des Moines River into downtown.

636603573357330621-Peoples-Flag-of-Milwa

Milwaukee's soon-to-be new flag. (Don't know if they've yet formally adopted this or not.)

1200px-Flag_of_Denver,_Colorado.svg.png

Denver. Pretty good for what it is.

1200px-Flag_of_Orlando,_Florida.svg.png

Orlando. Reminds me a lot of Ottawa's flag.

1200px-Flag_of_Indianapolis.svg.png

Good ol' Indianapolis..."Crossroads of America".

Flag_of_Birmingham,_Alabama.png

Birmingham AL. Could use some simplifying, but still...pretty not bad.

And then there's this "treasure", from right here in Sioux Falls SD:

jpeg

It mimics the three actual (used-to-be-naturally-occurring) falls in the Big Sioux River near what's now downtown, along with the quartzite rock formations over which they flow (the mineral of which is in many of your wristwatches--fun trivia).

And now back to our regularly-scheduled City Connect discussion...

The only one I recognized was Denver’s, and I lived in one of those cities...

I think Denver would be the one that stands out amongst those flags.

Cant forget about the city of Sacramento’s flag, which, just like the city itself, is a huge mess.
