NDFreek
The Cubs jerseys having “respect our neighborhood” on them is hilarious if you’ve ever been to wrigleyville after a 1:20 game on a Saturday. I’d buy a Y symbol shirt and call it a day on these.

Either way, the Southside jerseys are fire. I know a couple people down here in Fort Worth who wanted them. Both the Cubs and Sox jerseys make sense to me. There are movies out there where hip hop dancers get together and enter a competition to defeat the popular ballet trained kids who have shunned them for being from the wrong part of town (having a teen daughter I know this lol). The Sox jerseys are meant to evoke that kind sentiment in their fan base. The Cubs jerseys are like those affluent homes who just put up basic white lights at Christmas. They know they don't have to put on a show because everyone knows who they are already.
BBTV
Would like to see the White Sox jerseys photoshopped to just have their regular logo/numbers on the front. It'd be a perfectly fine regular alt. Even maybe with the road script on it instead. "The views expressed here are mine and do not reflect the official opinion of my employer or the organization through which the Internet was accessed." Not quite. The South Side doesn't start till Roosevelt if we're being generous and the East Side is all the way down by Hammond. On 6/4/2021 at 9:47 PM, _DietDrPepper_ said: Far more common? I haven't really heard either of them used before a stupid uniform had it plastered on the front of it. It's a real neighborhood insofar as any neighborhood is real, but it's not one of the official 77 "community areas" of Chicago, which aren't governmental units but exist for demographic research and such. It's part of Lake View, as is Boystown (which we're supposed to call Northalsted now to be inclusive but no one does unless they're paid to). Anyway, I hate these uniforms. They're hideous. They're worse than what the Sox have. These may replace the orange Bears alternate as the "keep an eye on this guy, he's about to do something really dumb" jersey. ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

Obviously number fonts are going to be hit-or-miss, but I think this one works. And it's one less team using the generic MLB font, which personally I don't care much for. I do think seeing these jerseys with the standard Sox wordmark would make them good alts, though.

For example, I think the Pirates would look much better with either MLB block or varsity block numbers. Too much of a theme isn't always a good thing. I think it would also add to the 'professionalism' of it if it had more basic numbers. Obviously not a 100% all the time rule, but one that should be applied in this case. Old School Fool
I’m not really feeling this Cubs look. The fact it’s all navy is funny to me because the White Sox are actually the Chicago team that had an all navy uniform back in the 70’s.

OnWis97
To me, the Cubs uniform is the most aesthetically pleasing of this series so far. That said, it's still so pointless.* It's not what the team is supposed to look like. A dark blue t-shirt with white over light blue "Wrigleyville" would probably sell really well and be an OK fan product. It's stupid on the field, particularly Wrigley Field, where only the pinstripes should be worn. *aside from selling merchandise of course Disclaimer: If this comment is about an NBA uniform from 2017-2018 or later, do not constitute a lack of acknowledgement of the corporate logo to mean anything other than "the corporate logo is terrible and makes the uniform significantly worse."
