Yeah, you can stop right there.  It isn't.

This is a great example of why color names aren't terribly helpful.  There are a couple different "international oranges", depending on the context.  None of them are wrong, if used properly, but neither does the name tell us much on its own.

FWIW, the aerospace version looks a lot like the Giants' regular orange, and the orange on these City Connect uniforms.

Giants wore them last night, looked brighter than their usual orange.  Drop the GG on the cap and add a smidge of slate/ gray  ANYWHERE ELSE ON THE UNI and  these would be ok.

I will lay down and bleed a while

And then rise up to fight again

These are so frustratingly close to being something I would like. The bridge sleeves translated really well and the overall simplification of the look played well for them. Just pair these with a black cap, ditch the absolutely stupid gradients or at least change the outlines from gray to black, and either just use the GIANTS block script on the front or the cursive San Francisco script and these are in the very least a solid look when it has to be used.

It feels like Nike is so so close to wanting to use full sublimated jerseys. I know the dbacks had gradients in parts of their jersey years ago. But looking at that Niners jersey concept a page back, layered clouds seems 100 times better that splatter gradient.  Is a full gradient jersey upon us? I /we know it’s happened with the Miami heat but in baseball? It would be a first I think.

Yeah, the Giants uniform actually looks orange, similar to the aerospace version, while the other two (to my eyes) clearly are shades of red in comparison.

I don't think their goal was to glorify criminality. There are people who see gothic style font and associate it with gangs and criminality because they've seen criminals and gang members with gothic font tattoos.

Not in a gang. Live close to a city with a lot of gang activity. Gothic font isn't exclusive to black gangs though. White, Hispanic, and  Black gangs have/will use gothic font in their tattoos. I haven't used the term gang activity as a euphemism, dog whistle or synonym for black people or black culture.

Ah, yes. The sweet smell of glorifying gang culture… 🙄

I'll say this much concerning the Giants' new alternates:  it gave us all a GREAT visual of what a primary orange-and-white team would look like in MLB. (Looking at you, Houston Astros.)

That said...the fog thing ain't working. They need to nix that idea, like quick. Solid-color orange works way better.

*Disclaimer: I am not an authoritative expert on stuff...I just do a lot of reading and research and keep in close connect with a bunch of people who are authoritative experts on stuff. 😁

I'd be fine with the Astros switching to orange caps and orange undershirts at home like they did in the early 1970s and for Saturday home games when they first introduced the current uniform set. The look on the road with navy caps and undersleeves are perfect except I wish they would return to the navy caps with the orange bills, which is what they used to wear on the road before slowly going to the solid navy caps late in 2017.

I'm almost wondering if the morons at Nike picked the wrong shade of international orange for these jerseys. Because it looks suspiciously like the first one that's definitely NOT the shade used on the Golden Gate.

I really hate to pass up any opportunity to dunk on Nike, but it's just Giants Orange.   Nowhere do they say they changed the color, and the MLB.com article indicates just the opposite.

Quote

The jersey puts focus on the Giants’ orange color and features a white background in addition to light grey trim on the front and back. San Francisco's gradient “G” logo pays homage to the city’s iconic Golden Gate Bridge, and the historical landmark makes appearances across the jersey’s sleeves as well as the side of the uniform’s orange cap.

What is this? They don't list it as a fashion on fanatics, it's listed as the Red Sox city connect?

Interesting -- I wonder if this is what they were going to go with and then MLB said it was too much of a departure

Maybe UCLA had a few things to say about the OG?

It fits the jersey better than the hat they went with.

These mother🤬ers are explaining fog and they think it's what makes SF unique?!?!

Just say the foggy bridge is iconic to SF and be done with it.
