Cincinnati Bengals New Uniforms

Don't overthink this - use the 90's stripes, block numbers, put the number on the sleeves like the 80's uniforms, mix in some alternate pants and jerseys because it's 2021 and call it a day.

Also, go back to the tiger head and full body tiger logo as your logo set. Execute the B logo for its 17 year crime spree.

edit: You guys have no idea how nervous excited I was to hear this news. I've hated the uniforms since 2004. They NEVER grew on me. I'm nervous about getting 2014 Bucced, but excited about the prospect of getting 2020 Bucced. My biggest fear that the helmets would change has already been squashed so fingers crossed!

5. This time, instead of using clear plastic between the white and gold, they're using actual burgundy stripes.

7. “Savage Silver” is being added as an official team color and will only appear on the helmet in the form of stripes being added to each end of the already established striping. S/W/B/G/B/W/S

I think its something like this. Hope the prowling tiger returns!

^ That concept right there is really all they need to do. Even with black pants, that is about as tasteful a modern update to an old classic as we can hope for without any of the annoying or unnecessary "Nike things" (see the serif of the 7 in the Cleveland Browns as an example-small one, but present nonetheless).

Also, I must be the only human on earth who does not and never did like the Bengals' color rush set; therefore, I most certainly hope they did not use those as any kind of base for this next set. Now, obviously, much depends on how far Mike Brown allowed Van Horne & friends go with this, but I still feel like there's gonna be 1-3 little "Nike things" slip through the cracks on this because Nike doesn't know how to get out of their own way sometimes, but I do know that one of the things that absolutely better not happen is some kind of custom swooshjobbed number font completely disconnected from the rest of their visual identity (Titans of Tennessee, I'm looking right at y'all).

TL; DR: that concept up above is all they need. Hope that's all they did.

EDIT - I just told my 19 year old son that the Bengals are getting new unis next year. His response 'I hope they base it off of their Color Rush'.

It nearly brought a tear to this old guy's eye that I've raised him well

And congrats / good luck @Sport

It's where I sit.

I don’t know why everyone is saying go to the color rush jersey when it’s just the away jersey with orange removed and block numbers. I really hope it’s a bigger change than that and not just the same template minus side panels and fixing the pants stripe.

If it makes you feel better, there are at least two of us.  I don't get the love for that set; a Bengals jersey without any orange is gonna be a no from me, dawg.

The fact that the white side panel survived from 2004-2020 is just incredible.  I don't understand how that was ever thought to look good.  Personally I don't like the orange shoulders / contrasting nameplate and I know the number font isn't loved by some of you, but that ONE change could've drastically improved their look all these years.  Heck, I wouldn't mind if they kept that side panel and mimicked the pant pattern.  But solid white?  I just never understood that.

Reebok 1: “Tigers have white stomachs, so how can we incorporate that?”

Reebok 2: “We we have that template with the side panels that we used to mess up the Broncos, Cardinals, and later on the Vikings...”

Reebok 1: “Eureka!”

The color rush set sucks.  For a gimmick uniform I guess it's OK (keeping in mind that gimmick uniforms are completely unnecessary) but the Bengals need to be black and orange.  Should call it the colorless rush.

If their social media was really ballsy, on April 1 they'd announce that they selected the new name and it's "Savages", and have a helmet with Wahoo holding a football as the logo, giant tomahawks on the shoulders, and a casino-themed secondary logo.

The stadium is being renamed the FedEx Teepee.  The burgundy remains unchanged.

I don’t know what it is, but I can’t figure out why I don’t like those original Bengals unis. Something about the white pants just throws it off for me

I feel like the jersey and pant stripes both got thinner between their first and second Super Bowl runs. It’s why I think the Boomer set looks very slightly better than the Anderson set.

I personally prefer the late-'90s update. The tiger stripes on the originals are a bit too thin and end up looking more like a wood-grain pattern.

The original striped set had very thick stripes. Sometime in the ‘80s they thinned them out, perhaps overcorrecting. The late-90s thickness appears to be in between.

Not sure if it's been discussed but Washington is keeping the Burgundy and Gold colors whenever they choose a new name.

Also, what are the top 5 NFL teams in need of a rebrand/new uniforms in everyone's opinion?

leaving out Cincy

1. Rams

2. Cardinals

3. Falcons

4. Titans (need a new logo too)

5. Dolphins
