Few, if any, living Philadelphia sports fans know the first thing about Norm Van Brocklin. Not taking anything away from the guy but he wouldn’t be on any other one’s Rushmore.

I feel like Yzerman deserves to be up there for Detroit, but I don't know that any of those guys should be replaced either.

I'd take Otto Graham over Paul Brown, and LeBron over Price. I don't think LeBron's departures from Cleveland should overshadow what he accomplished while there.

For Minnesota, you have to include someone with hockey. It’s too big here to not be included. I’m honestly not sure who George Mikan is. I guess I’m vaguely familiar that he played with the Lakers?

So I would put Herb Brooks over George Mikan. A lot of people know who Herbie is, idk if there’s many people who know who George Mikan is in Minnesota.

The rest of the list is good tho. Joe Mauer and Mikko Koivu have a place somewhere in there as well. Koivu is the face of the Minnesota Wild, and Joe has been for the Twins for the last couple decades.

The problem with MN is that there really are no obvious choices and a whole lot of non-obvious ones. I'd say the following people all have a legitimate case to be on it, but I wouldn't be upset if any of them got left off:

Mikan

KG

Flip Saunders

Cheryl Reeve

Lindsey Whalen

Herbie

Lou Nanne

Doug Woog

Krissy Wendell

Bud Grant

Fran Tarkenton

AP

Randy Moss

Alan Page

John Randal

Randall McDaniel

Harmon Killebrew

Kirby Puckett

Rod Carew

Kent Hrbek

Tony Oliva

Joe Mauer

Justin Morneau

Tom Kelly

Buzz Lagos

I'm sure I reached for a few and forgot a few, but this is what I could come up with.

My gut reaction was that Minnesota needs hockey, too. But neither the North Stars nor Wild have ever had a superstar.  Herb Brooks is probably the best option. Maybe Neal Broten, who played with the North Stars for most of his career, won the first ever Hobey Baker award at Minnesota, and was of course on the 1980 Olympic team.

But honestly it feels like Puckett, Killebrew, Grant, and either KG or Miken.

I’d put sandy Koufax instead of Gretzky, LA is a bigger dodger town than Kings town, and Gretzky really should only be in Edmonton’s

I was on the fence on that one honestly. Wrote Koufax first actually. You could even make an argument for Shaq and have all 4 as Lakers.

Part of the reason I had Gretzky for LA was because of how his trade was credited for helping trigger hockey's popularity in Southern California.

I had Deacon Jones at the beginning because I felt like I had to have somebody from the Rams on there.

Honestly, Ken Anderson probably belongs on the San Francisco Mt. Rushmore since the 49ers wouldn't have won any Super Bowls had he not paved the way for Joe Montana.

So I've got:

Ken Anderson, Gabe Kapler, Pablo Sandoval, and (I'm not sure who he is but I like his name) Jonathan Cheechoo.  I'd also consider Will Clark.

another thought: I know it's not exactly a "sport" in the competitive sense, but should pro wrestlers be considered for something like this? because, I mean, Ric Flair is more synonymous with Charlotte than pretty much any Panther or Hornet.

no, really. Charlotte's Rushmore should probably be Flair, Earnhardt, Cam, and... honestly, I'd take Muggsy over Kemba.
