Because with Brandiose wouldn't be just Teddy Roosevelt themed... It would be a Teddy Moose-Bear with a mustache and spectacles riding a rocking horse while carrying a comically large bat in one hand and a chicken fried steak in the other.

I always find Brandoise odd. I love and hate there stuff. It's like they seem to wanna do the same thing with every team.

I for sure see why a lot of people love or hate their stuff. I for one am a fan of Brandiose because of their out of the box ideas that tie into the region or team name. MiLB is supposed to fun and not dull. The reason you see the "same" tendencies for most teams that hire them is because that is what the team wants. Brandiose rebrands bring in big bucks comapred to other company rebrands. Plus another thing to keep in mind with Brandiose stuff and whoever else creates rebrands. They are all tied down by what the team wants. If a team wants 2 caps and 2 jersey's thats what they will get. They want 6 caps and 6 jerseys...thats what they will get. The problem isn't so much with Brandiose. Its with the era of the rebrand we are in now. The more caps, logos, alts. etc... the better and more revanue for the teams. Is some of the stuff overkill....absolutley. However thats what the teams want.

You're right to an extent, but you could also make the argument that as the designer, they have the responsibility to steer the client in the best direction. And, at some point, restraint might be needed for that best direction.

Logos and uniforms for the Pulaski Yankees (Appalachian League), formerly the Pulaski Mariners, via Facebook:

That PY logo is pretty awkward. I'd love to see an overhaul of the Yankees' lower minor league identities - there's a lot of really clumsy derivations of the parent club's identity.

(Sorry in advance for large photo sizes) I'm having a hard time deciding if the High Desert Mavericks (Single-A Rangers affiliate) need to rebrand, or if they should stick with what they've got and run with it proudly.

Because at first glance, this...

kseuh6ffmu4cii7uczgr.gif

...looks incredibly dated. But when you look at their ballpark atmosphere...

...the logo and identity package's desolate datedness actually fits in pretty well with the very remote setting in the Mojave Desert. The stadium is on the very outer reaches of Adelanto, CA, a "suburb" of the larger city of Victorville.

Man. You're a long way from the Show here.

A long way from anything. I'm not agoraphobic but those pictures make me want to be.

The pictures are kind of misleading. There is a lot of urban stuff like a mile over. To defend the team a little bit, my wife and I went on a little vacation and hit up a few minor league games on the route. The people at the Mavericks game were so nice. Way better than any other minor league game I've been to. They had the biggest group of fans that were there for a random Tuesday night. Lots of them wearing jerseys and stuff. It was strange.

The logos definitely fit the team/city/location. Thought they were kinda funny before, but they fit very well.

It does look really nice though. I do enjoy remotely located minor league fields like that.

Seeing this new identity for the Yankees Pulaski has me itching for Day Opening -- it seems like forever since the Series World ended!

What is this "sustainable development" of which you speak?

I actually just passed through Adelanto last week while heading from Phoenix to Reno. The Park is pretty much right at the very southern start of highway 395. It's definitely remote, but it doesn't even compare to some of the little s**t:censored: towns you run across heading north along that route (Like Bridgeport or anything near Mono County). It's actually not that far from Los Angeles, and sits just above San Bernardino. Games there are a bit strange because the park feels like a 1980s public swimming pool complex, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. The starkness and age of the park actually gave it some real charm. Makes you feel like you're REALLY seeing guys pay their dues in the minors. I actually went to a game there with fellow board members Acme Packer and Cujo a few summers ago when both were living around that area (I don't wanna speak for them too much, but I know that both of them are VERY happy to not be stuck out there any longer).

If you're ever around the Southern California deserts and are bored (OF COURSE you'll be bored), California League games are a ton of fun and are usually really cheap.

There's a good chance I'll be working in fairly close proximity to the place this summer, and a buddy of mine is working for them this season so I'm going to try to make a road trip there, 100+ degree temperatures and all.

Judging by the pics and reviews at least, there definitely is a charm to the desolate setting, and I'd like to check it out in person. Rumor has it they're trying to move the club (Ventura, Irvine and Palm Desert are the supposed frontrunners), so I want to see what it's really like there before it's no more.

The design is smooth and fits in fairly well with the region (as they intended), but it makes for an awful disconnect with the team name. It just doesn't scream "Knights" like the previous logo. The dark, sleek aura of the last one fit perfectly:

CorvallisKnightsLogo.PNG

But as per usual, I'll reserve all judgment until the unis are unveiled.
