(rare positive Rodgers news reported outside of the Packers organization)

Well, I'm gonna go see him in person Wednesday at the first day of camp and I dread hearing the inevitable boos from all the emotional fans clinging on to Schefter's Draft Day "accumulation of ... listening to people talk and observing."  Sports media sucks.

Dudes such a drama queen. He’s getting a lot of favre vibes from me, and feel we will be having the same offseason every year until he’s officially retired for a full year.

I don't know man, I watched him on the Pat McAfee Show the past season and I've obviously followed his career, and he's the most laid back chill dude I've seen.  Private contract negotiations and business matters shouldn't really turn into a media circus witch hunt that's borderline stalking.

I don't claim to know what's happening behind the scenes and that's really none of my business.  I just think there's a big disconnect between Aaron Rodgers and the media's portrayal of him, and it's mind-numbing to see report after report of something some dude's uncle who's a janitor at Lambeau said to farm some Rodgers drama clicks.  His career isn't over, he's going to be the longest tenured Packers quarterback, he's the reigning MVP, he's a future Hall of Famer, he'll have a free drink in Green Bay for the rest of his life.  If there's some issues due to the front office trading up to draft his replacement and trading away players like most people are speculating, then I feel like Rodgers has earned the right to at least voice concerns and push for change, and that's what I think is happening right now.  Season 17 of Rodgers in green and gold is coming up, and the drama can be reevaluated in February.

I'm biased tho clearly

It’s weird…this will ostensibly be a lame-duck season…and they might win the Super Bowl.

Disclaimer: If this comment is about an NBA uniform from 2017-2018 or later, do not constitute a lack of acknowledgement of the corporate logo to mean anything other than "the corporate logo is terrible and makes the uniform significantly worse."

If they bring home number 14 after an MVP season, there's clearly an extension to be considered and Jordan Love gets dealed off and Rodgers plays until he's 50, retires from the only team he's played on, and then I can die happy.  He's a Packer now, he'll be a Packer in February.  Business will happen when it happens.  QB1 is on the Packers socials again, it's time for camp.

Why is it lame duck? He is still under contract to the Packers in 2022.

I get Shefty tweeting that there will be 'arrangements' or whatever after this season. Let's not forget that football is a business. 'Arrangements' cost money.

That was my understanding by watching a few minutes of ESPN...I guess I didn't absorb the degree to which it's set vs promised. It was framed as him playing this year and being able to go elsewhere next year.

Understood. It's how Schefty maintains his sources. He is the mouthpiece for certain players/teams, and ESPN backs his words. Only in this case his words aren't supported by the "deal".

So Carson Wentz is a non-vax idiot.  Personal decision, difficult conversation, all that nonsense.  Since his trade was for a conditional draft pick that goes from a #2 to a #1 based on playing time, if he has to miss games because he either tests positive or through contact, he could actually kick the Eagles in the balls by costing them a first-round pick even after he's gone.

Maybe that’s his long game.

To be honest, he’s completely right here. The Packers are always so far up their own asses on how they do things as an organization (there’s a few of the older organizations in sports that are like this, to be fair) and they have the same amount of Super Bowl titles in my lifetime as my dumpster fire ass team. I think watching Brady be handed more control last year and him running with it knocked something loose with Rodgers, and he’s either going to get that opportunity himself or move on. I don’t think you can really blame a guy with as strong of a resume as him for wanting that. Any of us in a similar situation would want the same level of control over our careers. It’s actually a pretty reasonable request.

IDK... maybe a guy that's one exactly one Super Bowl and can't use the "but the Patriots" excuse isn't the best quarterback ever (like some claim) and shouldn't get to run the team.  I think people have this image in their head of Rodgers being carried off the field time after time again and holding all these Lombardis, but the reality is that he has only taken his team to the top once - which plenty others have done - and hasn't had as lousy a supporting cast as it's been made out to be.

I'm not saying Aaron Rodgers == Joe Flacco or Trent Dilfer (far from it), but he's pretty far from the Mt. Rushmore-esque figure he's portrayed as.

Yup. The guy has put up big numbers.

Has anyone mentioned that he is 1-4 in NFC Title games? After 30 years of HOF QB play, it's the last game of the year that matters.  His record in that game only has 1 W.

I don't want to kick him to the curb. He gives us the best chance (currently) to win. He's not the GM, though. Nor should he be.

That NFC title game loss against Seattle is so impossibly fluky. It just seems like Rodgers' career in a nutshell: he's brilliant but his team lets him down when it matters most. But also, maybe they don't want to play for him because he's such a :censored:.

The Buffalo Bills are a legit Super Bowl contender for the first time in 30 years and they're platforming their dumb anti-vax slot receiver.

I hope Beasley tears as an ACL in preseason so we're all done with him. He and Hopkins and Wentz can all go play in a new anti-vax league for losers.

Idk man, being named the Most Valuable Player in the league three times (tied second most in league history) while consistently having a high quarterback rating and touchdown-to-interception ratio doesn't really say "pretty far from the Mt. Rushmore-esque figure he's portrayed as" to me.  I think having Tom getting his 7th ring has spoiled the general consensus of what a great player looks like; there's plenty of great players in the Hall of Fame that don't even have one ring.  Sure, the goal of athletes is to win championships, but to diminish Rodgers from being a face of the league while he's the reigning MVP and playing his best football just because he has one ring is ridiculous.
