You should post this in a few more threads because it effects all the sports

Not just all the sports, but pretty much all of television, if I’m following this correctly.

I don't do video games anymore, so like, how does this work? Do you have to opt into Madden 22 2.0: Now With Less Jon Gruden, or is it like when Windows does a system update while you're asleep? Do you turn on your game one day and now RAIDERS COACH is there in his place?

I'd ask more about how the coaches' association would handle him being cut out of a licensing deal that they made, but the genesis of this whole thing was Gruden's hostility to a union, so pffffffft

Yes it will be a part of an update, most likely an auto update once you connect online. I’m sure you could cancel out of it if you had a love for gruden or something.

Eagles go for a ridiculous 2 pt conversion to make it 28-22 instead of 28-21.

I couldn’t think of any reason in the world they’d go for 2 in that spot… till the people in the row behind me all went nuts because that meant they covered (they were +7).

if you don’t think there’s fixing in NFL football you’re naive. Be it phantom penalties, mysterious clock runs, or by the teams themselves going for 2 when it’s completely wrong to do so, it happens.

They went for two because mathematically it's the smart thing to do and football coaches are finally becoming less risk averse.  Scoring 14 to tie isn't the goal, scoring 15+ to win is the goal.

2 pt conversions are successfully converted about 50% of the time, so the likelihood of getting stopped on two 2 pt conversions and losing in regulation is about 25%.  The probability of converting on the first 2 pt conversion, as Philly did, is close to 50%.  The probability of missing the first and converting the second is around 25%.  So 50% of the time you're kicking an XP after your second TD to win and 25% you're going to OT.

Without busting out a spreadsheet, that math still doesn't get you a win or OT as certainly as kicking PATs gets you to OT.  Now they could be saying "we're not good enough so our only option is to try to win it and avoid OT" and that's fine, but based on the way they're playing, their odds are lower than whatever the analytics machine says, because that machine can't factor in the complete idiocy of the coach, intellectual limitations of the QB, as well as his inability to throw accurate balls.

All of this looks bad, but it's unsurprising. I also wonder how much of a public backlash there's going to be considering this is a league whose fans don't even like the players. Skins were trying to lowball a player, most fans would be like "yeah, good, they make too much anyway."

What distinguishes the Snyder organization from, say, the Donald Sterling Clippers is that they know you know what they're doing and they don't care. They're so intelligence-insulting that they wrap back around to intelligence-respecting.

I’m not surprised that this stuff happened, I’m only surprised that they were dumb enough to put it in emails. Text  messaging I could understand, instant gratification and all that. But to go sit down at your computer, open up your email and send multiple ones out like this is just so idiotically stupid that only bigoted boomer executives would say those things and get their rocks off to it.
