Any word on who the victims of the 'city edition' sets will be in '22?

Not all are victims. I'm a Cubs fan. But the White Sox City Edition Uniforms are fantastic. They should make them a permanent part of their rotation in 2022 and beyond.

Have heard the possibility of it bypassing the 6-7 teams format and going league-wide next season if not the following due to the amount of sales.

Would be a shame, I'd rather see a few well thought out designs plus the return of this year's jerseys rather than a bunch of mediocre ideas slapped on so they can just capitalize on $$$.

I think someone posted a rumor a month or so ago that 2022's City teams were possibly going to be Anaheim, Milwaukee, Colorado, Kansas City, San Diego and 1 other team that I can't 100% remember but I think was Washington.  Just a rumor, but I guess we'll see what happens in a few months.

That was always the plan.  Roll it out to a couple teams first, and then expand and expand again league-wide in Year 3.

We are getting all these NBA type multi uni rotations for mlb. And I'm ok with it as long as we don't have boy scout (no offense to the Boy Scouts) amounts of ad patches on them.

I am sore, wounded, but not slain

I will lay down and bleed a while

And then rise up to fight again

So far only club to be rumored to have a new uniform will be the Rockies adding a new alternate. Other clubs haven't hinted or leaked a possible new alternate or MLB just make focus on "City" editions each year like the NBA.

I keep wondering what the new Rockies addition might be. I honestly think it will be one of 2 things. 1), they kill the black vests and come out with a new, black ALT jersey (and I would hope only use it on the road and make the purple ALT exclusive to home games). Or 2), since they started wearing ALT all-white pants with their black & purple alts a few years ago, maybe an all-white ALT jersey with no pinstripes to go with those pants? Sort of like how the Mets had one for a while.

Cleveland will obviously have a new uniform.  Not sure if the one they've shown is the final version or just a mockup.

I would love to see them go back to red accents (socks/belt/undershirt/batting gloves) at home. Navy looks so dull, in my opinion.spacer.pngversus

The Guardians uniform mockups when the team announced the new name showed their winged-G baseball logo on the sleeve. https://www.audacy.com/923thefan/sports/cleveland-indians/first-look-at-the-new-cleveland-guardians-logos-and-uniforms

Would that be allowed by MLB?

MLB rule 3.03g:

No part of the uniform shall include a pattern that imitates or suggests the shape of a baseball.

It would be allowed, because other teams have baseballs on their sleeve patches that are ok, like the Giants.

Phillies were allowed to re-instate the "swirl" in their P logo in 1987 after it was shelved 15ish years earlier for looking too much like baseball seams.

That rule has basically evolved into "don't put a straight up baseball on your uniform to try to fool the other team". Logos and sleeve patches are fine

As a Rockies fan, I'm betting on the vest being retired and a black alt reading "ROCKIES" in purple with silver trim. Couldn't imagine a pinstripe-less white uni since the pinstripes (besides the sleeve logo) infuse the only purple.
