Indigo
Was looking at NFL logo slicks/style guides earlier, and I came across this. As you can see, underneath the regular uniforms, there is a pair of white pants with one thick purple stripe down the sides. I've seen this in Madden before as well, but I thought it was an EA mistake. However, Gridiron Uniform Database shows that the Vikings have never worn said pants--even in preseason. Has anyone seen or heard about these pants, or know why they exist?
oldschoolvikings
Those pants first showed up in the Vikings' style guides in '13, when the current uniform debuted. And, nope... they've never been worn. At the time, my assumption was that they were meant to be worn as an alternate road look, on occasions when the Vikings wanted to go all white (since the Vikings' home white pants have a mismatched stripe with the white jersey). But as we've seen, on the handful of occasions when they've gone white on white they've done so in their primary white pants, obviously not caring about the stripes not visually not lining up. So... those pants remain a mystery. http://dstewartpaint.blogspot.com/
xmichaelp
I forgot about these. It’s a good thing they haven’t worn them though. Thick single color stripes are boring and logos on pants are always bad. Even the annoying asymmetrical stripes white pants are better than this. TornadoGTS
They also fell off the style guide in '18 or '19 when the NFL switched up the style guide layout/design. Old School Fool
It's like the Bears orange pants, they were supposedly in the style guide but never existed for real. They were also in Madden.

The red pants/socks were not in the initial style guide after the rebrand, and are still not to this day. Doesn't mean they wont, but makes it seem more like an oversight with the photo reveal.
