bowld
Logo looks like a W with a monument in the middle, sort of like the Caps alternate jersey logo. Based on the names given it could be anything from just a W to possibly a castle logo shaped in a W to be the Defenders or Brigade
burgundy
I think I know what the diamonds are for: So we have: - Sleeve stripes inspired by the DC flag - Collar stars inspired by the DC flag - Diamond pattern inspired by the original borders of DC - A logo that's a giant W (with possibly the Capitol in the middle?) - "We are an always have been Washington" They're sticking with Washington Football Team as the permanent name. Yup. And I assume that roundel logo on the opposite side of the three stars hangar effect is just the logo they’ve been using the last two seasons. SSmith48
This whole uniform set reminds me of what the Rams did, and not in a good way. Is this going to be a new trend where the home and road uniforms have disconnected designs, perhaps as a way to entice fans to spend more on jerseys in a league where they only change every 5 years? I like the home set, it features some nice ideas (satin burgundy helmet, modern font, sleeve stripes). It reminds me of the concept I put together for them a while ago: As for the (what seems to be) the road uniform, just yikes. There is already too much black in the NFL, the unnecessary addition of it here just saddens the whole set. I'll reserve my full reaction until we see the full product, but, like many of you, I'm not hopeful. There's not much upside in waiting to announce there'll be no name change. Smart is believing half of what you hear. Genius is knowing which half. MCM0313
If they really keep the WFT name - singular and generic - and prominently feature a roundel, then they should be kicked out of the NFL and moved to MLS.
4_tattoos
Long time Football Team fan chiming in. So far, the only thing I've seen that I've liked is the burgundy jersey with gold numbers. Although I'd personally prefer the sleeve stripe colors to be gold/burgundy/gold instead of gold/white/gold. I'm fine with the numbers being outlined in white. The white jersey with black accents instead of gold makes me nervous. Snyder did consider changing the team's uniforms in the early 2000's featuring heavy amounts of black. I don't know what to believe as far as the remaining names go. RedWolves would have been cool, but it's the only name they've flat out confirmed is no longer an option. At this point my preferences would be RedHogs if it's still in the running. Hotter Than July > Thriller

Not that I believe this, but you could read this as saying very literally "we are washington," The "fight for our community" phrase could simply be another way of saying, "we will fight for/as Washington." And "together we will define our future," could be a nod to collectively creating an identity under the WFT brand rather than forcing a new nickname upon them. I think it's more likely that they know whatever name is picked will be hated by a group of people, so they're pushing Washington to the forefront of the branding to cushion the blow. The Indians Guardians did the same thing when they unveiled their name.

MCM0313
Only proposed names I’ve really liked are Warthogs and Redtails. I suppose someone could sell me on Defenders. Anything singular would suck, especially keeping the placeholder name permanently.

It's the NFL translation of "We were inspired by European soccer clubs..." Plus the opening to unveil a more traditional-but-not-throwback away in the new style by year 3 or so.
