College Football 2022

The Big Ten has reconfigured their 2022 conference schedule this year. Wisconsin's game vs Ohio State was moved from November to September, and they play Purdue at home instead of away.  Ohio State was supposed to start Big Ten play with Penn State and Michigan State but those have been moved around as well. Penn State will be Halloween weekend this year. Also, Nebraska and Northwestern will start their seasons in Dublin, Ireland. The game was supposed to happen in 2020 and was moved for obvious reasons when the Big Ten originally cancelled the season.

In betting odds news, Alabama is the odds on favorite for the national title and are #1 in most way to early preseason polls with Ohio State and Georgia at 2 and 3 respectfully, and any combination of Clemson, Michigan, Oklahoma and Texas A&M following behind them.

Todd Graham chased out of Hawaii, so they're in the hunt for a new head coach.

Rolovich seems like an obvious choice if Hawaii's covid rules allow for that moron to hold that job.

Probably not. What he did at Washington State and how that went might make him persona non grata to many AD's.

Anyone want to see Jim Harbaugh leave to go back to the NFL just to re-start the coaching carousel again?

I do!  But realistically, Michigan would probably just promote Gattis, I would think.

Minor correction here — Notre Dame-Navy was scheduled for 2020 in Ireland; Nebraska-Illinois was scheduled for 2021 in Ireland.

"Man I feel old" moment of the day: the fact that Timmy Chang is a man, he's 40.

"Well I'm not THAT old yet" moment of the day: finding out Hawaii botched their attempt to bring back June Jones because he wanted to pick his own staff but UH wanted Chang to be HC in waiting.

June botched it himself. He offered to take the job before the job was offered to him. Chang was going to be the HC of Hawaii at some point and, according to some, would have been on Jones' staff but June wanted more freedom in his staff beyond that. Hawaii didn't want to throw a first time head coach into this mess but they were forced to. I think Hawaii head coach Timmy Chang would have a mile long leash. I think first time head coach Timmy Chang thrown into the dumpster fire that is Hawaii football gets a ten mile leash.

Their stadium was condemned last year, too. I spent a weird amount of time at Aloha Stadium when I was a kid for a variety of different reasons, and I can’t think of any other sporting venue at any level that was even close to being as rancid as that place was. It made the Oakland Coliseum look like a palace, by comparison. And it wasn’t just gross, it was downright dangerous. The last time I was there, large sections of the metal platforms holding the bleachers had collapsed due to rust, and that was almost 15 years ago. I can’t believe they used that stadium for so long without killing someone.

They're already in the process of replacing old Aloha with new Aloha. The stadium is supposed to be ready in 2024 or 2025. It's supposed to break ground in early 2023

No. As a fan of the Ohio State University, I need him staying at Michigan.  And, as  fan of the Minnesota Vikings, I need him staying out of Minnesota.

I want to see him take the job in either Las Vegas or Miami, because I like the idea of him playing his brother every other year so he can lose. If he skipped out of Michigan I don't think there's a big enough name to take that spot. At least not this year.

Hawaii has a temporary facility on campus that was supposed to host the Hawaii Bowl, but it only fits like 9,000 I think ? I also think going back to June Jones wasn't the best idea, but telling a coach you want to bring in that he absolutely has to have a certain person on the staff never works out well, even if they agree to it.

Brian Kelly is the gift that keeps on giving. Debased himself just to lose out on recruiting the kid in the video with him.

I kinda joked somewhere that the video is really an Alabama recruit video.

Welp, Harbaugh robbed us of some carousel fun but crank that bad boy up anyway because Bryan Harsin allegedly pulled a Bobby Petrino and may not be long for the Auburn job.
