infrared41's Who am I? Super Bowl Trivia for the Old School Crowd - Super Bowl LVI Edition

Bringing back "Who am I?" after a four year hiatus.

For the new folks, here's how it works:

Every player has appeared in at least one Super Bowl.

The easier the player, the tougher the clues and vice versa.

The emphasis is on players who played in the 60's thru the 90's but a player could be from any Super Bowl.

Pay close attention to the way the clues are worded and the words used in a clue.

Round I

I. I played in two Super Bowls. My first was in my rookie second season. (Error corrected)

II. I set two Super Bowl records.

III. I am the first person to do this in a Super Bowl.

IV. The teams I played for have a combined total of 10 Super Bowl appearances and Five Super Bowl Championships.

Devin Hester?

I meant Desmond Howard.  Same initials.

EDIT:  I stick by my first one as I don't think Howard played in the SB in his rookie year.

Fulton Walker?

Shumway is the first on the board with Fulton Walker.

I. I played in two Super Bowls. My first was in my rookie season.

Walker played for the Dolphins in Super Bowls VXII and XIV - Super Bowl XVII was his second season not his rookie season. I got my years mixed up. Sorry about that

II. I set two Super Bowl records.

In Super Bowl XVII, Walker set the record for kickoff return yardage with 190 and the yards per return avg. with 47.5

III. I am the first person to do this in a Super Bowl.

He was the first player to return a kickoff for a TD in a Super Bowl.

IV. The teams I played for have a combined total of 10 Super Bowl appearances and Five Super Bowl Championships.

Dolphins 5/2 and Raiders 5/3

Round II

I. The number of Super Bowls I played in is between one and seven.

II. Jim Harbaugh and I have a LinkedIn connection.

III. Deion Sanders, Jameis Winston, and I have this in common. No, it's not FSU.

IV. R.E.M. should get royalties for the number of times this word comes up in reference to me.

IV. Mention my name to this NFL fan base at your own peril.

Are we allowed more than one guess at a time?

If so, I'm going with Keith Traylor or Donald Driver.

You got the team right with one of those.

In that case, I'll go with Keith Bishop.

I hope I'm getting warmer.

John Elway

Waltere gets on the board with John Elway.

I. The number of Super Bowls I played in is between one and seven.

Elway played in five Super Bowls winning two and losing three. I thought "between one and seven" was a dead giveaway.

II. Jim Harbaugh and I have a LinkedIn connection.

Stanford. Elway as a player, Harbaugh as a coach.

III. Deion Sanders, Jameis Winston, and I have this in common. No, it's not FSU.

All three were also drafted by MLB teams.

IV. R.E.M. should get royalties for the number of times this word comes up in reference to me.

"Drive" is the opening track on R.E.M.'s best album, Automatic for the People. A reference to "the Drive."

IV. Mention my name to this NFL fan base at your own peril.

The Cleveland Browns. A fan base of which I am a proud member. Elway ripped our hearts out in three AFC Championship Games.

I picked up the "Drive" reference too late.  I had "Driver 8" in mind (probably because I came of age as an REM fan in college around the time of "Fables of The Reconstruction" and "Life's Rich Pageant").

Also, in my defense, Donny Anderson was nicknamed the "Golden Palomino" and Michael Stipe sang on several songs by The Golden Palominos.

They also have a song called Orange Crush

. . . which is why one of my first guesses was a  Bronco.

My Deion-Jameis link was the ei in their names . . . thus guys named Keith.

I seem to have overthought things a bit.

There's a good chance that I got a little too cute with that round. I'll do better in round III.
