They're throwing away decades of brand recognition for a boring, generic logo, with a boring, generic MMA fighter as the face of the game. The "Street Fighter" graffiti script in the lower part of the "6" should have been the logo. This looks like a last-minute re-do with some more standard Street Fighter colors. The next one will probably be better, if they heard fan feedback. They'll have more time to fix up something nice from scratch.  Maybe in the 90s some sports teams moved away from traditional looks in favor of something "revolutionary", at the time, and made a few bucks for several years. But nowadays, unless there's an absolutely strong and convincing reason for making a 360 to the logo, these kinds of changes don't get well received.
