The NFL is trying to get Flag Football into the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles, 2028 Olympics: NFL pushing for flag football to be included - Sports Illustrated, I decided to take a stab at what uniforms for different nations could look like.

Each team will have a primary and alternate jersey and color vs color matchups will be encouraged. The uniforms will be made up a sleeveless jersey and shorts, similar to that worn by the American Flag Football League on NFL Network. The uniform will adopt the large jersey numbers of American football and limited use of chest wordmarks. Each team will wear neon colored flags that provide high contrast with their uniforms.

Let's get started...

Canada

The Canadians will wear a maple leaf forward uniforms. The two tone jersey is split with a chevron that comes from the shape of the maple leaf on their flag, where the leaf meets the stem. The chevron is also a reference to the Toronto Raptors "We the North" motto and uniform motif. The shorts feature a maple leaf on each leg and a matching hem stripe creating a head to toe red-white-red /white-red-white look as a nod to the nation's flag.

Great idea! But shouldn’t the flags have a distinctive color? Like Red and Blue (Because Leafs and Argos) Or perhaps the flag on the flag?

United States

The US, like Canada feature a flag forward uniform. The primary uniform features reflective tonal stripes on the shoulders and stripes running the length of the uniform, while the alternate features stars applied with the same finish on the shoulders and stripes down the uniform. The number font comes from the uniforms of "America's Team", the Dallas Cowboys.

I believe belt flags in flag football have to be in contrasting colors and are consistent thru the sanctioning body.  Usually they are yellow for one team and red for the other.

I originally was going to go this route, but I thought the flags may blend into the uniforms too much which could make it harder for fans, players, and referees to follow. So, I went with the wrestling model of assigning each team a color and chose some neon colors that would pop against any uniform.

I am now realizing however, that neon yellow may look like a penalty flag!

Mexico
The Mexican national team will be rocking unis inspired by the patterns found on Serapes. The numbers on the jerseys and wordmark on the shorts are inspired by the Mexico '68 olympic logo type a nod to what will be the 40th anniversary of those Olympic Games. The primary uniform has a green top, white waistband (with the nation's coat of arms), and red shorts are meant to evoke a vertically displayed Mexican flag. The Alternate uniform introduces green shorts and a splash of color to the shoulders on the monochromatic white uniform.

Japan
Yayoi Kusama's polka dots come to the gridiron on these uniforms. The primary uniform is red with a sublimated tonal pattern of Kusama's iconic dots. The numbers are outlined in the same gold color present in the nation's olympic team's logo. The shorts feature another of Kusama's dots, meant to evoke the look of the "sun" on the Japanese flag against the white base. The alternate uniforms bring this dot front and center, with the white numbers sitting in the middle.
