My feelings re: Carson Wentz are well known, but this reporter went too far and should be fired immediately.  I just read that the Commanders president has banned him and he won't get any more access to Washington players.  Way to throw a career away by being a complete ass - there's so many ways to word the question other than the way he did, and Wentz handled it as well as anyone possibly could.  I'd've whipped my helmet into his face.

0:33 seconds.

Does that guy think he's Jim Rome at the top of the industry 25 years ago?

Looking at his bio, he seems like one of those sleezy gambling analysts - not sure how he got a media cred to do that interview in the first place unless his company is partnered with the WFT for some reason.  His site give me the impression he's closer to a used car salesman than a legitimate journalist.

My bad - I mistakenly thought that the Twitter that I found the interview on was the actual reporter's, but it was simply a retweet.  Warren Sharp still seems like a sleezy gambling analyst, but he's not the reporter in question.

The actual "reporter" is an "Emmy-award-winning sports anchor" for the local ABC affiliate.  Well, he lost his access to Commander players so good luck with that job.  Reading his Twitter feed, he got exactly what he wanted - tons of attention and retweets.  He's not wrong about anything he said, but a complete dbag for talking to an athlete like that when he's been granted privileged access for a 1:1 interview.  You can ask the same things without being disrespectful.

Well damn, I remember when he was the local ABC affiliate’s sports guy. I guess he’s about to matriculate to the afterlife.

Since the subject of retired numbers has been a thing lately, here's one reason why they're so special and shouldn't be tampered with: when Joe Montana went to the Chiefs, I thought it was really strange that he took #19, then I found out that he couldn't have #16 because it was retired for some guy named Len Dawson that I had never heard of at the time.

I forget if I found an NFL history book, or an old Sports Illustrated, or maybe saw an NFL films or something (it's not like I could have just Googled him back then) but that's how I learned about how great he was and how important to the Chiefs he was.  Had his number not been retired, or had they unretired it for Montana, he would have vanished from history and I'd never have any idea he ever existed, which would have been a shame because he was a great one and a deserving HOFer.

He was also working on Inside the NFL at the time Montana was there, so he was pretty well known outside of Kansas City, especially since he led the second AFL win in the Super Bowl. He wouldn't have disappeared into anonymity. It sucks that we're getting to the point where we're losing more of the players from the first decade of the Super Bowl era.

I just meant anonymity for me personally, but I’m sure I wasn’t alone. I never saw Inside the NFL because I think it was on cable, which because reasons, we didn’t have until ‘93 (and never HBO so I wouldn’t have seen it regardless).
