2022-23 NHL Season

The Colorado Avalanche are the defending champs.  The official puck drop starts today with San Jose vs. Nashville in Prague, Czechia.

There were many noticeable moves this past offseason covered in the offseason thread.

Ovechkin is 22 goals away from catching Gordie Howe for 2nd all-time in regular season goals. (Of course, I'd mention the Caps).

Who's bringing home the Cup this season?

Anybody want a goal?

Tune in to Lightning/Jackets...3-2 Lightning in the first period...

So um, about that...

...Anybody want more goals? Check out the recap of Bruins/Senators...it was like 6-5 after the second period, final score 7-5 Sens.

(Side note: There's some dude surnamed Zub on the Sensquad, #2. Might be the coolest little weird name I see this year.)

Blue Jackets get their first win. Canucks blow a multi-goal lead for the 4th straight game. That's an NHL record.

I'm enjoying the Johnny Gaudreau experience so far.

Also this happened and they didn't score.

I would be a little hesitant to say where the Sabres are actually at right now. Or anyone for that matter.

The Sabres looked like they were breaking out of the slump a couple of years ago too, until it all came crashing down on the back half of the year. Same for the Ducks last year. Two weeks into the season isn’t going to define where clubs are really headed. Can you get an idea? Sure. But there’s still WAYYYY to many games left to be played.

"And those who know Your Name put their trust in You, for You, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You." Psalms 9:10

So the Wild are now the worst defensive team in the league? 14 goals allowed in two games.

#TankForBedard

The Canucks (Vancouver happens to be Bedard's home town) haven't won a game yet, after 6 games.

I knew my Habs would have lots of competition in the Bedard Derby. But some teams I did not expect to be this bad. The Oilers could add another generational stud to their roster that's still devoid of a passable goaltender for the playoffs and regular season.

I'm curious who had Boston & Vegas as the 2 top teams to start the season? LOL

Always thought Cassidy was a great coach, but I certainly didn't expect him to do this well with Vegas.

I really didn't know what to expect out of Montgomery for the Bruins, but he's certainly the fresh air they needed after Cassidy.
