I said this in the Unpopular Opinions thread: the old logo has a charm that the current logo lacks completely. The "compromise" logo fixes nothing.

The current Falcons logo corrected on a lot of issues with the original, but they overcorrected it by adding new issues.

 

That being said, if it had to come between changing the uniforms or a logo change, I'd rather it be the uniforms.

- outline around logo

- Swoosh color on sleeves/pants

- add to sock and/or pant stripe

- accessories (gloves, cleats)

It would only become a problem if Atlanta decided to use gold helmets and pants.

Yeah, silver would work much better for ATL, I think. Admittedly, I’m spoiled by the memory of the 1990-2002 seasons, with their full-time silver pants.

Wasn’t a problem from 1995-2002, and they have been division mates for Carolina’s entire existence. Unlike the Saints, the Panthers would still have a very prominent and distinctive color that ATL couldn’t touch.

Black/red/white is a proven winner as far as color schemes (as long as you don't count the Nazis). Silver/grey just clutters it up.

I love the silver pants from the 90s. The candy cane style stripe down the side is my favorite, even better that the 3 stripe BLK/Red/BLK stripe on the current throwback pants. But I do agree the white pants are cleaner. Falcons need a red alternate with silver pants as the next throwback option, and make a white jersey to match the black ones. Have black pants for a blackout option, and leave it alone for a LONG time.

I think there's a nice area where teams can push uniforms to feel modern enough, be visually interesting, but not overwhelmingly gaudy. The main Falcons uniforms fail this. But the "Darnold Era" set, Chargers, and the Vikings fit into this window. 

I think these were ruined by organizational ineptitude and wearing black too much. I truly feel like this was the best uniform set that the Jets ever wore from a design point of view. I prefer the number font, helmet,  the sleeve stripes, and not having giant white collars compared to the new set. There's just nothing that excites me about the current set. It's just escapism to "ahhh remember when were were a little bit more respectful, but not good enough to ever make a championship?"

 

Again, nostalgia be damned. They had the off color Rex Ryan era uniforms for most of my life. I just think the ones they had previously were cool.

The sleeve stripes were admittedly cool, and that set also introduced the gorgeous helmet finish that they still have. But the rest of it just seemed like trying to chase trends.

Why don't they just do the Namath uniforms in the so-called Gotham Green? The AFL Jets never wore a green as dark as the Packers anyway. What need was there to go back to the forgettable 1980s?

1980s/current have MUCH better logo and helmet, IMO. I might even go so far as to say their current helmet is the best they have ever had, full stop.

The Namath era throwbacks this year are Gotham Green. The 98-18 look was much darker green.

Okay, cool. Should have stuck with that template instead of bringing back the late '80s to mid '90s when the Jets were the laughingstock of the league.

They wore silver pants after that, which I prefer honestly

Truth to that. Thank you for clarifying that to this guy who does not understand the Jets history. And also, the Namath era uniforms are better as a throwback than a regular uniform.
