I’m just saying that the angle shouldn’t determine which of the team’s two main colors the socks appear to be. That just shows the two colors are too similar. I agree that the green and black are too similar. I disagree that a photo representation changes that much either way. Quote It's where I sit.

Why did they ever drop them? Makes no sense to me Wow. I had no idea either. one season it looks like! 3 Quote | BROWNS | BUCKEYES | CAVALIERS | INDIANS |

Why did they ever drop them? Makes no sense to me The first few years saw changes each year, whether it's the elimination of the stripes on the road jersey, the addition of cuff trim, the removal of the logo from the pants, etc. There was some minor tweak literally every year. I think in 2003 they wanted to make a more substantial change to coincide with the opening of the Linc. I remember reading the rumors on the original version of Uni-Watch (Village Voice version) and then being really impressed when I saw it in a sporting goods store (there was no formal unveiling since I guess they called it a "tweak", even though literally every element changed, from the pants, the word mark, the trim, everything but the helmets.) In person on the original replicas (the Reebok ones), I thought the numbers actually made it look more... IDK, "prestigious"? That's not the right word, but I can't think of a different one right now. At the time, I really disliked the midnight green and black combo, but the addition of this gray (it really appeared to be lighter at the time, at least on the replicas) on the numbers and on the pants really changed my views of the uniform change (I was still in mourning from the loss of Kelly green) and I thought it looked really sharp. For the most part, I still do, but the clash between the word mark and the numbers really bothers me now (not sure why it didn't with the previous word mark, considering it's even more different of a style.) The 2003-present pants were a huge upgrade for me. Traditional in that they're standard straight stripes, but modern in that they're not symmetrical. They look... "faster" to me. They need to burn every black uniform part (other than the socks, at least with the green pants). The dumb black helmet, the unnecessary black jersey, and the silly black pants. Especially the pants, as they've already ruined the white-jersey look by mixing and matching. 2 1 Quote "The views expressed here are mine and do not reflect the official opinion of my employer or the organization through which the Internet was accessed."
4_tattoos Posted November 5 Posted November 5 Historic accuracy be damned. Those Eagles throwbacks need green socks! 7 1 Quote Hotter Than July > Thriller

Chawls Posted November 8 Posted November 8 Watching an ESPN special report on the life and death of Corporal Pat Tillman. Everyone is familiar with this now-iconic image of him. What I didn’t know is that it was following a play he made against the Saints, who were wearing their seldom-remembered white jerseys with gold numbers. Speaking only about the Saints unis, that jersey is sorely underrated. As I understand it, legibility issues on SD TV was the reason they were mothballed. 9 Quote Quote If you hadn't noticed, Chawls loves his wrestling, whether it be real life or sim.
The_Admiral Posted November 8 Posted November 8 The heavy black outline to compensate for the light base is one of those where the solution becomes part of the problem. You really see the legibility issues on the shoulder numbers. Quote ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

Pair current red tops with above pants, red socks and get ultra sharp looks. Same for the reciprocal. W/R/W. The current all whites & all black are not as junior college, but can be improved with just red socks. A stubbornly ignorant organization here in the Desert Southwest. 2 Quote

I've said it before, but the Cardinals are the one franchise in the NFL that can and should own the all-white look. I don't see a need for pairing the white jersey with red pants. In fact, I don't see a need for red pants in that set at all. 11 Quote

Just throw away the red pants and this is a great uniform for the Cardinals. The Cardinals should be the easiest team to dress. The helmet, white pants, red socks should always be worn with nothing changing game to game other than the jersey. 7 Quote

Adding to that list (as in just swap the jersey color for home/road), Raiders, 49ers, Packers, Steelers. I might go more than that list but that seems like there'd be general agreement. 4 Quote It's where I sit.
