Their cheating was pathetic and disgraceful, but I'd feel worse about it if it was a normal team that got screwed rather than the Dodgers. A title that was bought with more money than the majority of the league can afford doesn't feel that much better than one that was won by cheating. 2 1 Quote POTD: 2/4/12 3/4/12

Read yesterday that it was the highest-rated Series in seven years, and highest-rated ever that didn't go all seven games. And that's before counting all the Japan viewership. I think they beat out Monday Night Football, which, frankly, they should be doing. Remember when the NFL used to cancel Sunday night games in deference to the World Series? Now they won't even let the NBA have Christmas on a Wednesday. I get it, though; even good ratings don't look as good as they should. I was looking up World Series ratings through the years and saw that the biggest audience in recent years, obviously, was Indians-Cubs Game 7 with like a 37 share. And I was still just like "what could the other 63% possibly have been watching instead?" 2 Quote ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫
GDAWG Posted November 1 Posted November 1 Dodgers World Series Parade > Rangers World Series Parade As much as I enjoyed the Rangers World Series win, the parade afterwards was terrible and the reason was because it took place in Arlington, not Dallas as it would have been a lot better in Dallas. 1 Quote

Yeah, that's why I finished that sentence with "they both probably still scored pretty well all things considered." I figured the media and networks got something out of all of it despite the series only lasting five games. I know there was some disappointment about it not going down to the wire as it was hyped to death, but the fact that it was New York and Los Angeles still pretty much saved the ratings from any possible blow. I was just being petty because I didn't want either team in it to begin with. Quote

And all the parking lots are just named after cars! Honestly thought that this year's Celtics duckboat parade in Boston was probably the best-vibes day in local history, a city that can't do anything near that is a real broken culture. Quote

Partycrasher Posted November 22 Posted November 22 well, we've finally figured out what it'll take for baseball writers to give MVP to a DH. they'll do it if the only alternative is giving it to a Met. 1 2 1 Quote
