Ok,

I contacted Mac, and he said that since this isn't a fantasy league, he couldn't put it under the 'New Leagues' forum in Fantasy Sports, so here goes.

I'm starting a new league called the MLSB (Major League Simulated Baseball). If you are interested in applying, please fill out the following form.

If Moose Jaw is too exotic or small, I would relocate to Calgary as the Stetsons-

but went with Moose Jaw to not be predictable...

Suggestion to brass... don't just pick the first few that apply, go with who you believe would be dedicated owners that you know you can count on not to go AWOL.

I give you this advice after seeing this happen time and time again in other fantasy leagues

Yeah, I was thinking of looking to see who applied and then take the more experiened CCSLC members. I hate users that sign up just for Requests and to join Fantasy Leagues.

I was in a MLB Sim league this past season that was on for 4 weeks or so before the commish dissapeared forever. I was really dissapointed as I thought my squad was good. I love lookingover boxscores every day they are released. Is that the plan here? Will you sim for like 5 days and then publish the bosscores?

Ok,

I'm thinking about taking 8 teams for the inaugural season, and then expanding to 10 or 12 through Entry Draft.

I have also made the decision of doing a fantasy draft. The order will be a random order out of a hat and then we will do a draft like:

team 6

team 7

team 8

END OF ROUND 1

START OF ROUND 2

team 8

team 7

team 6

Something like that so it's fair. More information to follow.

Don't you think 8 is too few teams?

Every team is likely to be filled with superstars.

I bet you'd see teams have so much talent that they'd have players like Glaus or Giambi batting 7th and 8th in the lineup. Not to mention pitching rotations. Matt Morris as a 4th or 5th starter?

Personally, I think 14 is a nice number.

The one sim league I found most enjoyable had 30 teams.

I wouldn't draft Matt Morris at all :)

That's my point.

To have a lot of superstar teams so that there is no clear winner in the league. 30 teams is WAYYYY to much right now.

I agree. The diehard fan would be able to pick a good 25 man roster, but the typical baseball fan would have alot of troubles. I don't think there are too many of us that could actually pic a really solid 25 man roster with 29 other people doing the same thing.

8 is good to start with, and hten when there is expansion, have a certain number that you can protect. Not as many as the majors, but maybe like 7 players and 5 pitchers or something like that. That way the expansion clubs could be decent, but not be tops in the league right away.
