LimeGuy Posted November 1, 2004 Share Posted November 1, 2004 If I remember the story correctly, the logo for the Stallions was owned by Walter Payton (who was the potential owner for the team). When the team was denied as an expansion into the NFL, the Broncos owner got a team working on a look a like logo for their own use. The story I saw this on was a Walter Payton TV special and was painting the Broncos as evil for stealing away something Payton worked hard to make his own.I won't include my opinion on this subject. STL FANATIC Posted November 1, 2004 Share Posted November 1, 2004 Although my designs have slowed and I don't have a good logo for the team right now, my fantasy football team is named the St. Louis Stallions after the expansion effort.The designs are and will be mine, but I use purple and gold and base elements off of this design.The Mascot's name is Payton, and the name of the stadium, while not the original name, and I'm not sure if I've announced the change yet, is/will be the Walter Payton Memorial Dome.
