First of all, those are both college coaches who are in fact, teachers of young kids. However, Backman is a pro who was to coach pros, most of whom have similar transgressions (ooo, big word for me!) on their records. I don't see why the D'Backs can do something like this without it being a copout, just because they forgot to check on what Wally has been doing off the field in the last few years. I'd of given him a shot.
