mjteggy05
Well, after being a reader of these forums for a couple months, I decided to join and become and active member....so, with my first post, i will post my first identity, done over the course of this fall semester at school. Before the team was officially named or branded, I had been working on Washington Nationals Identity for a project in my corporate identity class. It just so happened that MLB ended up choosing Nationals as the name. Here is the symbol I created that would appear on the hat (I chose to use an eagle as a mascot and used it in the shape of a "W"), as well as the script I created (Washington would appear on road jerseys and Nationals on home jerseys). I haven't come up with a great way to integrate the two or if it's even necessary for the actually team signature marks. So take a look, C & C would be appreciated. mightynine
Like the eagle, but I'm trying to figure out where you were going with the "O" in Nationals.

mjteggy05
On the "O" I was trying to mimic the motion lines of the eagle with the wordmark, hopefully making the O look reminiscent of a thrown or hit baseball. it ends up not working real well once i added the outlines though i guess. thanks
Neon_Matrix
Adapting the swooping bird into an S at the end of nationals could work very well.
winters in buffalo
I like the logo, but I'd suggest getting rid of the red & white stripe on teh wing and going wioth just solid blue. I think that would help make the W more obvious. It looks like it would work well as an airline logo too!
HurricaneDavid
The eagle would be a great alternate logo or arm patch. I like the subtle "W" ala the beard on the Wizards logo. The "O" is just strange, why draw attention to a random letter?
Gary
The O looks like some kind of Thumbtack
