JamesCraven
All we need is the Eras Ultra Bold "2005 NBA" between "The" and "Finals". "I better go take a long walk off a short pier or something."Some people on this bolard have told me to do just that.My "Ron Mexico" alias is "Jon Tobago". Phil
somebody phoned that one in... My thoughts exactly. Do they even use a designer for that? The Finals logo is almost (if not) exactly the same as last year, and the rest... well, simplicity is in, and these are so in Oprah inquired about wearing them to the Oscars. pcgd
Right, and I know its not, but that font is too close to copperplate to use IMO.My boss the other day told me...If you're ever having trouble pleasing a client, use copperplate. To that I repsonded "and use a bunch of misguided gradients?""Yes" I was told. I'm pretty sure they were serious. I know they were about copperplate. dannymits
Still, there's some elegance in the simplicity. Seeing the year '2005' on the playoffs, conference finals, and finals logos wouldn't hurt, though.
slapshot
Except for the NBA Draft & Finals logos, the type used in all of those is Emigré's Matrix, the same font used by the D-Backs, Mariners, and Baltimore Ravens. They are all very simple, and not very creative. Maybe it's a good thing that they're boring, so when their placed with the respective NBA Playoff teams' logos, the teams' logos will stand out more. TFoA
Is that not the same logo package as last year??? Not only for the playoffs, but for the draft as well???
sj32
The Draft and Finals logos are the same as last year's. The other Playoffs logos are improvements over those of the last two years, which were similar type faces encased in ovals.

jewbanpimp
Hey everyone.... this is my first post here, so I hope I'm not repeating anyone.I would like to see them use the years again. Especially when you're watching old highlights, it's nice to see it on the court.Any idea why the league got rid of the year in the first place? My guess would be so people wouldn't know what year it is, to give it more of a timeless look or something, but I don't know for sure.

eqtmgr
I really like the Playoffs and Conference Finals tags. The Finals logo is the traditional logo that they have been using since the early 80's. It's old, but timeless and classy. Mahalo.
