Stampeders sold!

I hope it's true--man drags the team to the depths (yes the coaches and players did some of it to)--but his attitude was all wrong--turned off a lot of people.

If we'd had a decent owner--we'd have a good coach, and kept some players we lost.

Feterik (the owner) recently did an interview and still is criticizing Buono--well the guy coached in the Grey Cup this year--where were the Stamps?...

I hope the story's true...

Well it's all over but the screamin'

Feterik HAS sold the team to local owners--including former players.

The official announcement is expected Wednesday...

Also expected is the turfing of Coach/GM Matt Dunigan, and team President Ron Rooke.

And the Hiring of Tom Higgins as coach and/or GM, Jim Barker (former coach) as director of player personnel--and the return of former team president Stan Schwartz...

Michael Feterik is quoted as saying he wished he could ave had better news--well aside from signing certain free agents, this is great news to this Stamps fan! :flagcanada::woot:

I assume "turfing"="firing"? :P

Of what little I got to see of the CFL this past season, it looked like Calgary needed some kind of change. They looked lousy.

Hopefully the team that made Doug Flutie a star can get back on its feet.

I don't know. When I think of Flutie, first I think BC Lions, then Toronto Argonauts. Calgary only as an after thought, an "Oh yeah, he played there too."

But Calgary was Flutie's springboard back to the NFL, no? Or am I totally confused?

(Just looked it up. Apparently I'm confused. The Argos were Flutie's last CFL stop.)

By then Garcia was ready, so no problem--But Flutie's CFL career was longest with the Stamps-including outstanding player awards, and a Grey Cup-

He won 2 Cups with the Argos, and none with BC--so I baerely think of him with BC.

Oh and that Grey Cup picture is why I knew Buono would NOT put in Printers in last year's Grey Cup--that game in '95 he left Flutie in, and didn't go to Garcia--yet Garcia did play in the semi finals when Flutie faltered...

I'm happy for Stamps fans, because nobody deserves an owner like Michael Feterik, and because now the name Dave Sapunjis will be back in the news.

Just saying the name makes me happy... Sa-PUN-jis!

Yeah--Sponge was one of the great Stamps--he retired too early as well...

Have the released details like price?

I'd be interested to know what your average CFL team goes for.

And whether they make a buck or not.

They're not giving the exact amount--but it's believed to be between 6.5 & 8 million Canadian...

More than what Hamilton & Toronto were bought for last year...

So they run on the edge of breakeven?

I think I'd like one.

I'll take the BC Lions, hold the logo and colours.

In fact, I pledge to everyone now.

When I buy the BC Lions I'll have a comp on here for the new design package.

And Lenny the Laughing Lion will be gone. As will Black, Silver and Orange.

You might have to give me a couple of years though.
