Football Jersey Maintenance Question

I was looking on ebay when I noticed a Green Bay Jersey. The numbers were peeled off a little. I've also noticed jerseys where the numbers have been worn off. I was just wondering if there is any way to fix this problem. Also is there a certain way you should wash jerseys. Here is the jersey I saw if anyone want to look:

First and foremost - do not throw the jersey in a hot dryer! Air drying works best for both sewn-on numbers and heat-pressed / silk-screened. I would never throw a jersey with heat-pressed or silk-screened numbers in a dryer, even on low heat.

As far as repairing one, I don't think there is much you can do other than to stick a new number over the peeled-off one, but that would look terrible if not done right.

The Budbowl77 guide to cleaning jerseys:

1. DO NOT EVER DRY A JERSEY IN A DRYER. why? cause unless you way 55 lbs chances are good, your gonna grow a little around the middle, keep that jersey in the dryer, and you'll shrink it.

2. COLD WATER..PLEASE USE COLD WATER IN THE WASH. warm water makes shiny thread ball up, thus making a new jersey look like its been used as a cats scratching post.

HOW TO FIGHT STAINS

STADIUM BEER- COLD WATER RINSE POUR DETERGENT ON STAIN. RUB IN FOR 2 MINUTES.

STADIUM MUSTARD- CLUB SODA. you'll be surprised what a little club soda poured on a stain will do. Its something scientific, and I have no clue how it works. but trust me plain club soda works wonders on that white hockey jersey.

KETCHUP- ketchup is tricky, i dont know what it is about ketchup but myself, a little Tide we have fought battles with Heinz ketchup, so here is my trick..get a small scrub brush, and some tide..drop the brush into a bucket of warm water for just a minute..than spread on with your hand a dab of tide on the stain..use the karate "wax on wax off" technique untill turns a bit yellow..than drop into cold water rinse and voila!

these are just a few things, if you need help with stains and stuff PM me..I was a equipment manager in college..i've washed everything..removed blood, grass, food..name it..I've even caught my fingers into a sewing machine a few times too sewing numbers.

My mom has a hell of a time washing blood off of my white jerseys. Any input?

:D the best way to fix a screenprint jersey hands down :D

take it to your local screenprinting or ebbroidery shop. i do it all the time. they might be reluctant at first but theyll usually rescreen it for you and itl be really cheap. another tip, the first time you wash it, put a little vinegar in your wash. the jersey will hold up way longer. i just got my deon sanders ravens jersey and ive already got the vinegar in the laundry room

Ask the hooker if it is her time of the month BEFORE allowing her to mount you.

So any place that screenprints onto t-shirts will do this? What about the mesh holes... will they remain exposed after the screenprinting process? I've got a Rams' Kurt Warner jersey that I'm rather fond of that I'd like to return to the way it was when I bought it.
