Yeah, I don't get that whole Flying Elvis thing either...I never saw Elvis wearing a giant blue hat with a star on it...come to think of it, I don't think he ever wore a hat at all since it would muss up his hair!

Where did the term Flying Elvis come from?

Agree that the Jets should have a more dynamic logo...I liked their logo and uniforms from 78-97, the kelly green days. Notice how no one even wears that color any more?

I think the cardinals have a great logo and I hope they don't ever do an overhaul (a red facemask would be nice, though).

Worst Logos:

Chargers--a curved lightning bolt?

Broncos--I just never warmed to it

Jags--I like the sleeve logo, but not the helmet

Falcons--I can't get used to it. I miss the simple one.

Jets--I agree, it's boring

Panthers--Just never liked it

Bengals--That stupid, stupid "B"

Disclaimer: If this comment is about an NBA uniform from 2017-2018 or later, do not constitute a lack of acknowledgement of the corporate logo to mean anything other than "the corporate logo is terrible and makes the uniform significantly worse."

im of the opinion that no team no matter how traditional is immune from change. theres no sense in having the same logo and scheme for 40 years just for traditional sakes.

i did a total nfl review but that was unis and stuff i'll do the same but focus more on the logo and helmet.

arizona - no amount of robbing from rich teams with the salary cap will ever help this sad team out, at the very least they can do a major overhaul. they may suck for another 30 years at least i want to enjoy something new.

Atlanta - old logo was boring and needed to be changed. i like the new logo they have now. i used to like the red helmet/red jersey days, now that i look at there scheme now, i like what they have done now than then.

Baltimore - i've been intrigued by this logo. its probably because when i think raven i think of Edger Alan Poe and the raven poem which i love to associate with Magus from CT.

Buffalo - The helmet should have been included with the overhaul. Its really time to update the logo not just add another color and make a mess out of the helmet.

Carolina - not sure what i would do improve the logo or helmet. i like what they have now.

Chicago - not sure if they really need to be changed. with the current trend in 10th rate nfl designers designing nfl uniforms, im not sure i trust them in with the bears.

Cincy - I really think its time for the bengal stripes to go. i like the roaring bengal head. and no i don't want to see the lazy bengal b logo, it needs to be axed. probably the laziest logo since the browns football B logo.

Cleveland - put a logo on that helmet. the bulldog face works just fine.

Dallas - the helmet really could use some updates. they won't ever be a serious playoff team no matter what parcells does. so why keep holding on to 1992. just over haul the damn thing already.

Denver - replace the horse head with wild bronco in the D logo.

Detroit - serious overhaul. they are in need of some serious change. modernize the old Ford Mustang lions logo they used to have.

Green bay - another team in serious need of change, changing the helmet to vegas gold would make the packers look sharp. why the current set is more sacred than the holy bible i will never understand. change it already.

Houston - perfect. nuff said.

Indy - really no need to change. its a pretty time less look.

jax - the uniform combo is a disaster, but i really like the helmet in fact its better than the proposed Jaguar car logo they had.

KC - helmet concept is fine, i would go with a darker shade of red and yellow.

Miami - nothing wrong with the logo. better than the old logo IMO.

Minnesota - not sure what i would change. subtle changes is all they need. maybe a darker shade of purple.

NE - Put the flying head on the sleeve and modernize the pat the patriot logo. -after all the rams changed after winning the super bowl.

NO - one of the few times where lots of gold looks nice. i like what they have.

NY Giants - i personally like the "NY" logo over the old logo. i like the updates did.

NY Jets - i don't ever want to see gang green ever again, though the logo could use some improvements, i like the throwback look to the only time they were serious super bowl contenders.

Oakland - not sure what i would change. subtle changes is all they need.

Philly - the wings on the helmet are out dated, put the eagle head on there and wings on the jersey.

Pittsburgh - the logo on one side has bothered me for some time, put a matching logo on the other side. this isn't the 1970s. a change on the helmet wouldn't hurt either.

SD - i really don't see why they have to make any serious changes. if they had to lighter blue (not the :censored: blues but a dark but lighter than navy blue) and a dark yellow as the logo.

Seattle - the one area where they did it right. i like the fierceness of the logo.

perfect modernization.

SF - another logo perfectly modernized.

St. Louis - i like the update from yellow and blue to vegas gold and millenium blue. i like the combination. its a great update over what they had.

TB - i like the ship logo but the sword flag logo never grew on me, they should have modernized bucco the buc logo. just my opinion.

Tennessee - i made a modernization of this logo that would make every intolerant liberal s-t there pants.

washington - the indian head has got to go, not for pc reasons but being severly out dated, i personally like the spear logo they used.

OK, my turn to be longwinded:

Buffalo--simplify uniform, change logo to navy w/royal highlights on buffalo.

simplify helmet stripes (tapered White/Navy/White)

Miami--fine, leave alone.

NYJets--Mix the 2 traditions, keep basic uniform pattern but change logo to

1980's JETS with jet in white on a green circle. See this example:

www.geocities.com/cfflwebman/NYJ.jpg

Patriots--Keep helmets the same. Update Pat for jersey sleeves. Return to

1994? original jerseys/pants with new Pat on sleeves.

Steelers--fine

Browns--fine--the logoless helmet is worthwhile to keep. Maybe create a better

dog logo (more like X-line Fresno state, with bone)

Bengals--return to 1990's uniform, with leaping tiger on sleeve.

Ravens--Remove stripes from helmet, change drop shadow numbers to simpler

and never where dark pants with dark jersey.

Colts--fine with one change, return to white facemasks (blue ok, white better)

Titans--fine, though I don't care much for the flaming thumbtack logo, it can stay.

The uniform design (logo excepted) is one of the best right now.

Jaguars--helmet is fine, jerseys fine, pants should be white (w/dark jersey)

with alternate black (with stripes, not plain)

Texans--only change: pants--change from boring stripes now to a single swath

of red, similar to jerseys (Denver-like tapered stripe, maybe not

swooped forward, just a wide-thin taper)

Chiefs--Add some black to jerseys/pants. Maybe an indian pattern like FSU

collars and sleeve ends. Minor change

Broncos--Change swoosh on pants to straight taper, not swirl forward.

Use Orange jersey as primary.

Raiders--no changes

Chargers--I am ok with currents, though the pants are lame. Should have a

wider, better-drawn bolt. The current one looks like a zipper.

But, I am fine if they go Powder Blue as well. Not a big fan of

numbers on the helmet though.

I am certainly not advocating a change, but can anyone explain why a team called the Cowboys have a STAR for a logo? What "cowboys" in the old West wore stars? Sheriffs and deputies, but not actual cowboys.

Just one of those things to ponder...

never ever have the browns played a football game with a logo on their helmets. changing it would mean the end of the world. this list is logos only. uniforms are another story.

teams who could, not should, but could add depth to their current logos.

BUFFALO (some navy shading and smoother curves on the buffalo)

DALLAS (a nice secondary would be better than re-doing the star)

DETROIT (less outlines, maybe some shading)

GREEN BAY (the 49ers changed after 5 super bowl wins, it CAN be updated)

INDIANAPOLIS (see dallas and replace "star" with "shoe")

KANSAS CITY (2 tone grey arrowhead with some yellow outline or letters)

MINNESOTA (a new viking would compliment the horn quite nicely)

SAN DIEGO (use the anniversary horse with the bolt)

teams who could go back to a previous logo, or use a modernized version of it.

CINCINNATI (leaping tiger)

DENVER (the new leaping bronco inside a D)

NY JETS (the kelly green days were better on the eyes)

SAN FRANCISCO (i think the update could have been done better)

TAMPA BAY (a modernization of bruce would be welcome, but the current is okay)

TENNESSEE (they should be the oilers again, because that was a cool identity)

WASHINGTON (the spear, the darker maroon, and the deep yellow would be great)

teams that need a complete revisit of it.

CAROLINA (the secondary with the scratching paw is better)

teams that have great logos.

well the politically correct people wont allow guns on the side and fringe on the pants lol. they could also go the bucking bronco route but that would look too much like wyoming and would confuse them with the broncos as well. i think they chose the star just because they were in texas.

yeah its obviously a lone star state thing, and brings to mind the old wild west, without actually being a representation of an actual Cowboy. Which is a bit odd.

Not to harp on about it by the way, but I was bowsing the NFL site earlier and one logo stuck out to me, and that was the flying elvis. Don't get me wrong here I like the Pats, but the logo stinks.

I threw this together in a couple of minutes for fun:

DallasCowboys_Proposed06.jpg

I don't really like it all that much, but I was toying with a more western-looking star for the helmet...

Meh.

That's a pretty good representation of the Lone Star, it would be a nice change for the Cowboys.

The weird thing is that small children know who the Dallas Cowboys are because of that star. I guess it's great for that 1-8 year old demographics group. :D

I would like to see the Jets go back to their original logo. (No, not the blue-and-gold of the Titans!) I mean the green jet airplane. Perhaps it could be updated to be a silhouette of a 747 or a fighter jet, however.

The curvature of the Chargers' lightning bolt at one time made sense, because it left space for the number underneath. Either they should have a straight lightning bolt, or restore the numbers. (I prefer the latter.)

Dolphins: Maybe they could put a proper Dolphins helmet on the dolphin. (Of course, the dolphin on that helmet would need a proper helmet, and so on...)

The 49ers tried changing their helmet logo a few years ago. There was such an uproar that they changed it back the next day. I wouldn't dare touch that!

The Lions' leaping lion is good. However, does anyone remember their alternate logo from the '60s? (It wasn't used very much.) It was an elongated, almost heraldric lion superimposed over blue and silver vertical bars. That might be nice for a change.

The Bears could use the bear head on the C that they have now as an alternate.

I like the Saints logo ... the fleur-de-lis is perfect. But New Orleans is one of the few cities that has almost official colors. It would be more representative of the city to use the green, purple and yellow of Mardi Gras.

Those are the only ones I have definite ideas for changes.

There are a few logos I believe should remain untouched: Rams, Packers, Cardinals, Steelers, Colts, Cowboys. Everyone else is up for grabs.
