STL FANATIC
Torry Holt is "Big Game". Granted, I believe he came up with that, but I'm also pretty sure it's from his days at NC State. Even if he did come up with it, he's lived up to it. (Though, and this is not meant as a knock on Holt, I still think Bruce is the go to guy in an important game.) Torry "big play" HoltThats what Madden calls him Well, it's "Big Game". That's what I've read and heard, plus that is how Holt introduces himself on MNF (though I'm not sure I like him doing that. That said, your probably right about Madden saying "Big Play", because I just did a quick search, and he's referred to as that a couple of times as well. STL FANATIC
Also, from what I've read, it sounds like Holt got the nickname from his NC State teammates for his big games against FSU. Apparently they got it from one of James Worthy's nicknames. The reports that it is a self-annointed name are probably because he had to find a way to bring it to the NFL. See Red
In my opinion, the NBA has the best. Here's some that are kind of original, some play off of the players names, but are still clever. Some have already been mentioned.King James (LeBron James)The Answer (Allen Iverson)The Matrix (Shawn Marion)The Truth (Paul Pierce)Air Canada (Formerly Vince Carter)Nick the Quick (Nick Van Exel)Mighty Mouse (Damon Stoudamire)Tractor Traylor (Robert Traylor)The Glove (Gary Payton)Kandi Man (Michael Olowokandi)The Mailman (Karl Malone)Skip to my Lou (Rafer Alston)White Chocolate (Jason Williams)
