"They're gonna eat the chort!"

Anyway, it just ticks me off that everyone (sports media wise) is going to talk about how good they are..beating a Wild Card team who have played two OT games in the past two weeks, while Pittsburgh had one-week rest, and it STILL TOOK THEM TO OVERTIME!

accually its three in three weeks buddy :P

I know, but Pittsburgh was playing them during that 3rd OT game...right?

oh yeah i guess. sry.

The D gave up a FG. Other than that it was a Punt return and an interception. The main point of whoever you are playing under whatever circumstance is you WIN. So he played poorly, when it counted the kid came through.

Everyone seems to be hating on Big Ben and the Steelers just because it's the easiest thing to do. I'll agree with CaolinaJoe in that a lot of y'all are making it sound like the Steelers were lucky to be in the position they were in. The Steelers earned first place in the league, playing in the better of the conferences and beating the only two other undefeated teams that the league had to offer.

The Jets were physically and emotionally tired from the previous two weeks? Physically maybe, but ANY football game is going to leave you beat up. Emotionally? Doubt it. They snuck into the playoffs, which should leave them in a good mood, and then got a surprise win over a team that nobody gave them a chance against. Emotionally, they should be supercharged.

Blaming the Steelers for having had a Bye Week? That makes sense. They earned the week off, and sometimes that can actually leave you more rusty than if you'd just played an overtime game. It really sound like you guys are getting on the Steelers for not having won big, but in reality, even if you only have one more point than your opponents, you're moving on.

Jets deserved to win? Not really. Your kicker is an integral part of your team, and if your kicker's game is off, your whole team's game is going to be off. Ask the Chargers.

I'll be honest, Ben didn't look good today, but neither did Chad and nobody seems to be faulting Pennington for not being able to put up any offensive touchdowns. If he had, they wouldn't have needed the two field goals that they missed.

If the Patriots win, the Steelers will be able to beat them. If the Colts win, the run is over the Steelers.

You don't think that winning a football game can be an emotionally draining thing to do? Take a look at the ups and downs the Jets went through.

They go from losing a game and thinking they're out, to finding out the Bills lost and that they're in. Then they get a huge stop late against Chargers that clinches the game. Wrong. Penalty, Chargers get another chance and they score forcing OT. In OT, the Chargers drive and have a very makable game winning FG attempt, they know the season could be over right there. Kaeding misses, they get the ball and get a game winning FG. Just because you win a game doesn't mean it can't be emotionally and mentally exhausting, especially when it's sudden death 'win or go home'.

Playing just about 10 quarters of football in the last 2 weeks is a little bit different than getting to rest for 2 weeks, is it not? I'm not faulting the Steelers for having a bye week, I don't believe anyone did. They wanted the bye week, they got the bye week, they deserved it. But a physically fresh team shouldn't stuggle against an exhausted football team, especially one that "snuck into the playoffs" and has played 10 quarters over the last 2 weeks, and expect to not be criticized about how they played. Especially when two weeks prior to the game, they could've started the gameplanning in case they did get the Jets. Nobody said the Steelers are a bad football team or they're lucky to be in the playoffs, but just looking at the sideline during that game, they looked beat in the 2nd quarter, even.

When I watch a sports contest involving my favorite team(s), my mentality is just plain WIN the game via any means necessary. I don't care if the big name players on my team don't step up or not, as long somebody on the damned team does. That's how is goes. And fortunately for me, the Steelers won. It wasn't pretty, but they did it. It's over with and now they have to focus on New England.

LET'S GO STEELERS!!!
