gregchait
I think this is a great concept. How are you doing the inside of the letters? Is that a filter or Illustrator CS? Just curious... looks good.grc
mr_xmt
I think the white eyes work better. The red disappear, but the white stand out and look menacing.Very nice work.

FiddySicks
Quote= AAOVirginia Longnecks Concept, Easily My Best Work Yet. Check It Out.AAO, while your work is very good and the progression has been great...you need to tone the ego down a bit....just a bit of friendly advice.i really enjoy your designs a whole lot, but it seems that you have been putting things out at a breakneck pace. i think your designs would benefit a whole lot from taking a little more time with them (i.e. longer than the 7 hours it took for the cleveland mlb redesign). you are very very good......with the ability to become very very great. just don't let your excitement over what you think is a finished logo stall your progress. learn some design theory. even if your school doesn't offer classes, go to the library and get some design books....learn from the masters. let paul rand show you how complex simplicity can be.just continue to let yourself learn......don't burn yourself out before you even get started.sorry....i didn't PM this, because maybe it can help other young designers out there too.if not, so be it. now boys, lets not turn this into a prologo mudfest On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.) Stampman
I like it--the use of the giraffe has a certain boldness--and white eyes look better... barnesdesign
Hey man I agree with Nitro on what he said...you'll not want to have too many things to show in a portfoilio interview anyways, just a few of your very best....as far as the logo goes, the only thing I don't think anyone has said yet (maybe because it doesn't bother them) is the tip of the giraffe's nose is baaaaaaaaarely touching the top of the "s" outline, which makes a very akward focal point. I'd either have the green outlines overlap more or put more space between them. Other than that, I don't want to get too repetitive with comments, but keep up the good work barnesdesign.netbarnesdesign.posterous.com/
AAO
Thanks Ben. Yea I agree with what nitro and joel said, i understand, like i said i love hearing from the bigger guns out there like you guys. And thanks for pointing out that nose/S thing...i see it now. And ahh bucfan this is nothing like a prologo mudfest. Nitro has been looking out for me since I joined, since my MS paint days. He's always given me constructive criticism and told me the do's and dont's...he's right with what he said. flynnagain
That would make a great San Diego logo (given the importance of the zoo there)....and the way the ABA is expanding, you should look into it....(important.... get the money up from with that league)........one point.....as mentioned earlier, the "Virginia" typeface is too light and small.....won't embroider well
fiasco!
now boys, lets not turn this into a prologo mudfest not a mudfest at all....actually, AAO and i have a pretty good rapport and i'm just giving him some constructive criticism....which he understands.i reserve the mud for those without talent or tact. AAO posesses both, therefore i was just trying to help point him in the right direction.now, ian knows all of this. the reason i put the comments in public, instead of a PM conversation, is because i wanted other young talented designers to maybe read and learn a few things from it.thanks for the concern. I ask everyone for their C&C (i.e. some of the peeps here on the board, my girlfriend, friends, etc...). Thats why I dont post as much stuff anymore as I let it sit and then go back to it. I of course don't have the same illustrative talent as aao and some of the other guys here who do fantastic animal and people logos, but i'm getting there slowly but surely. if antything this board has vastly improved my skills in illustrator. pagan696
wow, another good concept.for the Spitz Canine, use a small dark shadow edge to outline the side lip/gumline, that should imply the mouth area without losing the continuity of the snout. i like the heavy borders on the full dog (second image). minor comments: the front foreleg had the curvature i'd fatten up, and i'd tighten up the stroke point edges so they don't expand off so much (less pointy), but overall a very nice jorb! again Carolina Dreamin' ΓΔΒ ΓΔΒ ΓΔΒ When a robotic Nixon is on the loose, we have a duty to take action.
