vicfurth
"'The Eyes of Texas are upon You' that is the song they sing so well... SOUNDS LIKE HELL!"Gotta go with the Aggie War Hymn. The whole song is dedicated to the greatness of A&M and the loser-dom that is Texas University, leaning towards the latter...And ABC said TU-A&M wasn't a hard rivalry. sacker12
Besides "Trojans, One and All" (Troy U's fight song), I've got to go with UAB (even though they are out big interstate rival), Arkansas, and U. of Miami. FSU real fight song sounds real dorky, even I really like the "Seminole War Chant". Noting that I am also an huge Braves fan, that I another reason I like that song. Phil
"'The Eyes of Texas are upon You' that is the song they sing so well... SOUNDS LIKE HELL!" Does that sound anything like Chuck Norris crooning the intro to Walker, Texas Ranger?Oh the eyes of the ranger are upon you, anything you do he's gonna see...so when you're in Texas look behind you,'cause that's where the ranger's... gonna be. pcgd
Because nobody mentioned the first ever fight song, I will. Illinois Loyalty. (It predates Notre Dame's!) Plus, I'm a huge homer. Its sung at halftime. Usually Oskee-Wow-Wow is played after touchdowns and is generally the adopted fight song because its faster paced. Illinois Loyalty, because its the first ever, is slower than most other fight songs. We're loyal to you Illinois, We're "Orange and Blue," Illinois, We'll back you to stand 'Gainst the best in the land,For we know you have sand, Illinois,Rah! Rah!So crack out that ball Illinois,We're backing you all Illinois; Our team is our fame protector,On! boys, for we expect a vict'ry from you Illinois!Che-he! Che-ha! Che-ha-ha-ha!Go Illini go!Che-he! Che-ha! Che-ha-ha-ha!Go Illini go!Illinois! Illinois! Illinois!Fling out that dear old flag of Orange and Blue,Lead on your sons and daughters, fighting for you;Like men of old, on giants placing reliance, shouting defianceOskee wow-wow!Amid the broad green plains that nourish our land,For honest Labor and for Learning we stand,And unto thee we pledge our heart and hand,Dear Alma Mater Illinois. This is sung after the Chief comes out and does his dance. The Chief Illiniwek Dance is refered to the "Three-in-one." The three in one consists of the song chief illiniwek does his dance to, Hail to the Orange, and then after that, Illinois Loyalty. Here's "Hail to the Orange."Hail to the Orange...Hail to the Blue...Hail Alma Mater...Ever so true.We Love no otherSo let our motto be...Victory! Illinois...Varsity.This is where Chief busts it out and my favorite part of going to home basketball/football contests. Here's an MP3 of the "three in one," Illinois Loyalty (the official fight song) and Oskee Wow-Wow, the adopted fight song. http://www.bands.uiuc.edu/MI/media/1996CD/...-threeinone.mp3 After the announcer says thank you, they play Illinois Loyalty and then Oskee Wow-Wow.I couldn't find a video of the whole thing. It's unfortunate that you may not be able to see Chief's dance for much longer. I've got to get to a game and see it before they get rid of it. Its pretty cool thing to watch. ColeJ
the vols rocky top is not just the best fight song ever, but one of the greatest songs of all time and i'm not a big vols fan. any love i show for the vols is purely love for their fight song.i'm actually more of a bama/texas fan, due to family matters....how can you not love rocky top? the lyrics are HILARIOUS... it's a drunk hillbilly song, and it doesn't hide that fact. i love it.before i knew anything about college football, i rented the NCAA football game for xbox. i created my school, and had to choose a fight song... i knew nothing about anything, but i picked tennessee's fight song, because it was the catchiest... later, i learned more about it, and i love it even more to this day.in fact, now it will likely be stuck in my head for the next 24 hours

Sterling84
Sorry Joel.Don't mean to disappoint. I can't help it. It's precisely because its NOT a fight song that I love it. I also use it for my University of Wisconsin-Poy Sippi team in NCAA football. My dad is like a baby boomer psuedo-cowboy and lived in Tennesse for a long time while I was growing up. All his ole country tunes crack me up, yet strike some kinda sentimental chord I guess.PLus, the Tennessee band cranks it up a few notches with the drums n stuff...I just like it.Beyond that, I pretty much hate college football and all the songs. Even 'On Wisconsin'.I can remember watching games when I was little and wanting to barf at how awful the USC song was and it got stuck in my head. Really turned me off. Geoff
My vote would go to Notre Dame, Florida State, or Navy. What about you guys? When you say Florida State do you mean the actual fight song or the warchant? Athletic Director: KTU Blue Grassers Football
