OnWis97 Posted January 22, 2005 Share Posted January 22, 2005 I was on ebay and I bid on a nice looking Daunte Culpepper jersey. It ended up selling for $80. It looked like the real deal to me. Size 52. The guy selling had a bunch of authentics going from like $50 (usually guys not on the team any more) to $125 (or $150 for Vick). I can understand a sharp looking jersey of say Clinton Portis on Denver going to Ebay to be sold cheap, but something like Culpepper? I saw Moss for go for about $90. Most of the jerseys are large sizes (52 and up--the occaisional 48). But anyway, it gets me to thinking--who are these guys that get all these jerseys and sell them on ebay for $80 when they are sold at stors for what, about $200. Are there defects in the jersey that they do not tell us about? Are they stolen?Like I said, it looked like the real deal and his feedback was all positive. And I know he is not the only one and it occurs for all sports. Disclaimer: If this comment is about an NBA uniform from 2017-2018 or later, do not constitute a lack of acknowledgement of the corporate logo to mean anything other than "the corporate logo is terrible and makes the uniform significantly worse." I'm not sure how much they care about selling them, but he's got one for me and he's talked about getting payton manning ones, getting them autographed and selling them. Breakwood Posted January 22, 2005 Share Posted January 22, 2005 I'm not sure about football, but there are alot of soccer jerseys from a guy in Thailand that he sells for 10 bucks USD. The only problem I had was the nameplate was upside down and the jersey had been in storage forever in the original reebok plastic bag. Paid an alterations shop 10 bucks to fix the name plate and the jersey turned out great. I would say most of them are factory rejects or irregulars that turn up at places like Value City and Marshalls. I ordered a size 60 and it was definitely at least 2 sizes bigger.
