Dnice
How can an O-line be so one dimensional? They excel in run blocking but, when it's time to throw the ball Vick hardly has time.
See Red
Don't know. Since it's the Broncos old O-Line coach, it's no wonder why they excel in run blocking, though.Oh, and couldn't this have gone in the NFC Championship Game thread?

pcgd
As a former Olineman, I can say, run blocking and passblocking are two different worlds. Instead of attacking the defender as you do on the run, you typically let the defender come to you on a passplay. Instead of a step forward, tackles and sometimes guards take a step backwards. Passblocking takes more communication and teamwork than runblocking. One guy screws up blocking a run play, the running back can make up for it much easier than a QB can avoid a sack. Plus if you have one guy free on the Oline, he has to scan for others and then help out. Sometimes he'll miss one or he'll help out the wrong pair. thejroll
I agree with run blocking being easier than pass blocking. When run blocking you fire out into your opponent. When pass blocking you step back and wait for him to come to you. Run blocking is more about force and pass blocking is more about leverage.
