NJTank Posted January 23, 2005 Posted January 23, 2005 How many times has the Super Bowl matched up teams representing the same state? What were those match ups? www.sportsecyclopedia.com For the best in sports history go to the Sports E-Cyclopedia at http://www.sportsecyclopedia.com
Stampman Posted January 23, 2005 Posted January 23, 2005 Well I remember the Giants-Bills in 91--the Giants won a close one to start off the Bills record for consecutive Super Bowl losses-and I still remember Norwood's FG miss to end it, Giants 20 Bills 19.And the Niners & Chargers played a few years later in a mismatch as the Niners won easily... Comic Sans walks into a bar, and the bartender says, "Sorry, we don't serve your type here."
Saintsfan Posted January 23, 2005 Posted January 23, 2005 yep stampman is rightSuperbowl XXIX San Fancisco 49ers 49 San Diego Chargers 26 Superbowl XXV New York Giants 20 Buffalo Bills 19 Interestingly both games were played in Florida (XXV in Tampa, XXIX in Miami. Is that an omen for the Eagles and Steelers today?) 2011/12 WFL Champions

jrh31584 Posted January 23, 2005 Posted January 23, 2005 I'm not sure if Giants-Bills counts, as the Giants don't play in New York.
NJTank Posted January 24, 2005 Author Posted January 24, 2005 No but they are the New York Giants and the question was represent the same state. www.sportsecyclopedia.com For the best in sports history go to the Sports E-Cyclopedia at http://www.sportsecyclopedia.com
