LogoFan
2 more concepts I've had waiting to post...one of these days I hope to get the rest of what I've been working on posted, but for now...AmericansHornetsComments and constructive criticism welcome, on the concepts as well as the new "look" for my site. And yes, there was a subliminal idea behind the Hornets being green...
Stampman
Actually I love the Gunslingers logo on your site--nice way to work the picture into the letter...
Waffles
I like the helmet emblem for your Americans set, but the wordmark looks too busy, and using the stars for the A's in the wordmark kind of interrupts the flow of the word. Perhaps if you just use the star for the first A (and make the "A" part of the star distinct somehow from the star itself), and play with the colors so the letters are clearer.I really like the Hornets set. I'd suggest using a different color for the "BIRMINGHAM" as I didn't even see it at first, and even when I did, it looked like part of your template.Good work! GeneralW91
I've lovin that Americans logo! Why can't the AAPBL use anything like that for hoops?(since theyre putting a team in Omaha). Right now their logos suck, their on oursportscentral.comThey need something like that Americans logo. I love it.
GeneralW91
Well they were planning a team in Omaha, right now all I see are Billings Butte Casper Cedar Rapids Great Falls Lincoln Pueblo Wichita My bad.
PackerBadger
I know this thread isn't about the Tornados, but ...(1) I believe "Tornadoes" is the plural of "Tornado."(2) I'd rethink the Tornadoes' colors, because neither purple nor blue make one think of a tornado. I'd suggest green and black -- black for obvious reasons, and at least in this part of the country green skies often accompany tornadoes. And you can go with silver pants for the home and green or black for the road.

LogoFan
I really like the Hornets set. I'd suggest using a different color for the "BIRMINGHAM" as I didn't even see it at first, and even when I did, it looked like part of your template.I tweaked the "Birmingham" part so that now it's very clear; you're right, it was very hard to see, after I took a closer look! Thanks for the kind words everyone!PackerBadger, thanks for checking out my site. I had already checked on the dictionary on Tornados/Tornadoes...both spellings are correct. I chose the one without the "e" because it reminded me of Dan Quayle's "potatoes" incident. Not a good historical mental link. I know some folks didn't like the blue/purple combo, but it's not only one of my favorites, it's also unique to football (unless someone else can think of another team). bulldogbarks55
Hey man, you suckered me! When I saw "Americans" and "Hornets" concepts I naturally thought of my beloved Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League and their forebearers, the Pittsburgh Hornets. Amerks and Hornets are HOCKEY names. Enough with the football!By the way- nice job and your web page is very attractive.GO LEAFS GO!

Cashcleaner
the hornets one would make a nice update to the logo the Charlotte hornets use now. You mean the New Orleans Hornets, right? As for the logos, the Americans look pretty good with the colours and general design, but I wouldn't say there is anything in particular that catches the eye. Now the Hornets logo does look solid, and I think it's the best out of the two. My only criticism for it would be that the thicker black outline for the body and wings tend to confuse the viewer. At first, I couldn't really tell what was being represented in the image until I concentrated a bit on the idea that it was representing a flying insect. I think less black and more yellow would help the overall scheme a bit. But the one I really like on your site was the Portsmouth Spartans. Nice colours and an excellent design!
