Roger Clemente
With each passing minute, it becomes more likely that I can post this with pride:--Roger "Time?" Clemente. Suigi
I agree Tank. 7 days of meetings in 5 months time is unacceptable. The NHL is starting to look like a joke and that's the last thing it needs. For the record, I've never seen Bob McKenzie so upset! See www.tsn.ca and click on the A/V button and watch the panel talk from today. What bugs me is why they weren't talking like this from the start. One cannot end labour negotiations when one does not negotiate! And plus, if both sides expect the other to snap under the pressure, nothing is going to be done.I've said it before and I'll say it again: kindap Bettman, Goodenow, Daly, and Saskin, bring them to an undisclosed location, and force them to negotiate! FORCE A DEAL! BROADCAST IT ON ANY CHANNEL THAT CARES, SO THEY CAN SEE WHAT GIMPY ASSWADS WE HAVE RUNNING OUR GAME!!!...Sorry. I'm good for the next week. I can't beleive after all this time, some still don't get it.Neither side wanted to talk. They both wanted the season scrapped to blame the other. It was all a big game of chicken and the fans lost. The players never had a chance to avoid a cap. They thought the owners would cave, like they always do. The onus of the negotiations was on the players. The owner made it no secret exactly what they wnated. They made it no secret they never expected this season to happen. They made it a point to say they were losing less money not playing, than playing. The players thought they could wait out the owners in Europe. They got some pay to get by, but in the end they will still lose. It's the owners ball and they are making the rules. "It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of thepress. Well they don't if you use the full names as the Ducks are "of Anaheim". At he all star game the player were introduced with the M teams. That means the Atlanta Thrashers win the Stanley Cup this year.
